Time of wedding/reception

So..... we are being married on a Friday and almost ready to order invites except trying to decide upon the “perfect” time to marry. I’ve already confirmed sunset is @ 8:05 Not necessary to be a “sunset” wedding but I did want a few pics w us then. Also, who can wait the entire day to marry your bff!!!!! Is 6 o’clock considered late and keep people from attending? Maybe 4:30 would be better. Suggestions appreciated

I think 6:00 is fine, especially on. Friday night. Some people will still work that day and can still make it. We got married at 5:30 and it was perfect timing. Summit your wedding and reception at the same location? That’s something to consider as well if you have travel time in between.

My venue (a zoo) doesn't have weddings start until at least 5PM. Since I'm doing a January wedding sunset will be much earlier, so we're considering slightly later to make sure the sun isn't in anyone's eyes as it's going down. So I'd definitely say 6PM is fine.

I agree with Cyndy! 6:00 sounds like a perfect time, especially if people are working that day. It will give them time to travel without rushing Smiley smile

Agree, 6 or 6:15, or even 6:30 as it's likely a hot time of year with an 8pm sunset. Ceremony will be over quick and then guests can get drinks and apps while you get some pics. Start the reception and slip away again for a few sunset pics.

I am getting married at 6pm on Friday in August in Saint Augustine. Sunset is supposed to be 7:53pm. I think the 6pm ceremony time, especially on a Friday, is perfect!

We are haning a start time of 5 pm. We are getting married at a museum and they don't close until 4 so that gives us a hour to set up.
