The Waiting Game

Stuck in a state of limbo right now.
All of our vendors are still willing and able to be there for our day— but we’re still kind of on hold. Our venue is a public nature center which is closed until 4/30 and has no idea what’s going to happen after that. If they open back up, that means things might be slightly back to normal and we might be able to have our wedding as planned. I’m trying to remain optimistic but we just don’t know if that could happen.
If they don’t open we have to figure out somewhere else to get married and the limited number of people who will get to be there. It’s hurting my heart so much to think that we could only have a total of 7 guests on our big day. We’d also have to negotiate with our vendors if we have to scale back our celebration to a part of 10. Ugh. It’s hard to plan when I know the day isn’t going to be how I had been dreaming of it being for the past year.
On a happy note— it has been exactly one year since my love asked me to marry him ❤️❤️

Hugs honey. Sooo sorry you are having to deal with this!

Hopefully the ban will lift and you can go forward. BUT, if NOT, have the 7 other people, and Zoom/FaceTime the rest in... is there Any way the caterers can drop food off to ppl so they can have it? Or have them come pick it up?

Thanks for the kind words love Smiley heart

That's what my honey wants to do-- make a Zoom call (since we have an account for business already) and stream the ceremony so people can watch. We also have a lot of fly-away people so that could work for them too. Our caterer is super nice and it's his family business so I'm sure we could work something out, I just don't know what since everyone is kind of scattered around the surrounding counties/whole state.

I am so sorry you are having the deal with this stress right now. I agree with PP. Try to include the guests that can not attend via Facetime or Zoom.

Also, I love the photos from your engagement! So sweet!

    Hi Kaitlyn,

    Happy engagement anniversary!

It's so hard to know right now!! I'd definitely reach out to your venue to start talking through your options and what plan b could look like so you're ready to go if you do need to change your plans.

We've gathered some tips and resources you can check out here: COVID-19 Wedding Support Central. You can also connect with other May couples facing the same questions in these discussions:

May 30th wedding- when you postpone?

May brides and your plan of action?

Memorial Day weddings anyone postpone or cancel?

    I hope this helps!

    Smiley heart
