I got the " when are have any a baby" way before getting engaged. Now I get the are you having babies after the wedding. my mom said that I planned our engement wrong. We been together for 2 yrs before getting enged and planned everything in 6 months. Most people wait a year or 2 then get married.

    UGH

I've gotten most of the questions off that article, I just make a joke about and fume inside. My mom and my FMIL are the worst two about the rude comments, I get everyone from "Why are you spending so much on that? I saw that at the dollar store for less..." and "That is tacky why on earth would you use that in a wedding" Oh my favorite is "I had a perfectly good wedding dress for you why did you go spend all that money on a new one?"

    Those are some rude questions.

I used to get "am I invited?" but I just smiled politely and did not yes or no. If they are invited, they'll get an invitation.

The other one I used to hear is "when are you gonna have kids?" lol but I think they got the point by now. No kids Smiley laugh Yayyy

Ugh Iv heard most of those at some point too. ESP the long engagement one. Why do people assume your relationship isnt good if you are prolonging the engagement..? Its not like hes going anywhere...lol. If I dont marry him by X date we arent just going to throw in the towel or something people!

My FMIL asked why we bother getting married at all right now. She said its the 21st century and dont have to be married. LOL whatever

My mom asked who was walking me down the aisle. I said I wasnt sure yet, I have plenty of time to think about that and will decide when the day gets closer. Then she freaked out and was like well of course your brother will. Uhh you mean the same brother who has been very mean and never talks to me..? yeah sure....

Why do people ask a question they already have THEIR answer made up for? Again I say, people are crazy....

After birth control complications (sorry TMI) my GYN told me since I was getting married soon I could either use condoms or have kids! Really?! I'm not even sure if I want kids at all yet!

I also got the "Congratulations, looking forward to coming!" a lot. When trying to keep the guest list down, this was really hard for me to handle. Thank goodness I never get those questions anymore!

This list made me laugh!!! Especially the last one, because I actually I asked that at my friend's wedding... but I didn't think it was rude to ask. I guess that's just me...

I havn't had many problems with rude questions except for the "Am I invited to your wedding" question alot. I am only a year out of college and was in a sorority in college. For some odd reason every girl in my sorority, some of which I am not close to at all think they are coming to my wedding just because they are my sorority sister. There are several girls I was close with in college but havn't spoken to in over a year and probably won't speak with all through my engagement who expect an invite. Many of my other sisters who are currently engaged are having this same issue

The worst one was that one sister (who had already asked me if she was invited and i told her i have a big family and i'm not sure yet) texted my brother, who also went to the same school as me, and asked that if he wasn't in a relationship during my wedding if he would promise to take her as his date! My brother was blown away and called me hysterically laughing.

We've been putting this wedding off for a while, and we've just recently set the a date. No rude comments yet, but I'll list as they come in (smile). God Bless each of you that are experincing the jabs already. But like they say..It's our responsibility NOT to allow ANYONE to rob us of the blessed joy of the occassion. Take care.

I don't really remember too many comments that stood out regarding our wedding. We were married a year and 8 months after we met. We purchased a house in that time and are financially doing well. We got pregnant a month after we were married (we weren't trying trying but not preventing). When I told 2 semi-close friends that we were expecting one girl screamed "OMG what in the world are you going to do?" Like there was a question of what we are going to do...hello married and 29 years old. The other friend said "WOW really? That's a bit fast don't you think?" I haven't spoken to those two people since the day I told them.

Holy crap some of these comments, people are such rude a**holes...

    Let's see, here's my list:

I've gotten the opposite of when are you having kids "you're not planning on having kids right away are you?"

"Are you planning on losing weight, you want to fit in your dress right?"

"you're having a theme wedding? that's uh interesting..."

"Oh you're finally getting married, are you sure this time?"

"are you sure you want to live together before the wedding? Why buy the cow when you get the milk for free?"

"Maybe you should wait til you have more money?"

These arent so much rude as they are just annoying. What's really sad is most of them have come from my parents. The same parents that refuse to be a guest for the ceremony cuz it's pagan & I as a witch am going to hell (they've all but said that) & dear God they wont accept my decisions. Grrrr., that's a whole nother rant right there...

    The rudest two were probably:

"I'm going to be the drunk guy passed out in the corner at your wedding hahaha" He is a coworker and was not on the guest list. I can't stand him at work let alone outside. And if that's what you think you're doing? Ha.

    &

"Hey Dre? No...this might be too soon to ask."

    "What?"

    "Is this for real?"

Mind you, this was AT THE WEDDING RECEPTION! WTF are you thinking, seriously?

    Rude people. SMH!

I have dealt with plenty but this was the best I can come up with... When I showed someone my engagment ring becuase of coarse they have to ask they said "oh is that your practice ring until your real one comes in???"

Granted my engagment ring has no diamonds it is what I wanted and what we found in the city we were engaged in at an art gallery. It is just everything I ever wanted and goes SO well with my wedding band (which is the ring with the more traditional diamonds not that it matters)

This is just like my ring but mine is thinner its 2mm wide... the artist mines his own materials in Austalia Smiley smile

I try not to let those rude comments bother me. People are either ignorant or they don't matter to me.

I haven't had to deal with any rude comments yet but yesterday my mom said something a bit rude. My younger sis had just complimented me on the engagement ring and my mom said "Oh its not as big as Susanne's" (my older sis). Well duh, she's been married 10 years! I shook it off though, my mom doesn't have much of a filter haha.

So far the rudest comments have been, "how much are you spending on the wedding" and "how much did he spend on your ring?". People dont know how to say "congratulations" anymore. Instead unthoughtful gibberish comes out.

The kid thing I can live with. I HATE when people ask how much things cost. I had someone ask me how much my FH paid for my ring. Didn't like that one!! (I don't mind if another bride asks how much a photog, dj, etc is. Before all this planning, I had no idea how much this stuff should be.)
