The RSVP envelopes don't fit in the invite envelope!!! HELP!

Cathasach, on April 13, 2010 at 7:44 AM Posted in Planning 0 18

So all my stuff arrived about 5 days ago and I just now decided to try and put one together and the envelope for the RSVP doesn't fit! The envelop is actually about the same size and the invite envelope! I know I'm going to have to buy all new invite envelopes now but where do I find them cheap? I ordered from an online printing vendor and they don't sell envelopes separately. I have to get these mailed soon!

Thanks in advance!

You can try your local arts and craft store, like micheals or acmoore

They didn't have the right size... they were actually the same size as what I already have.

I got mine from Envelopes Express. I found them by Googling "cheap envelopes". It's worth a shot. Good Luck!

MDLS ordered some yesterday from www.envelopemall.com

Don't know if any of them work with your colors, but these look nice: http://www.envelopemall.com/detail.aspx?ID=485

There's something similar in cream: http://www.envelopemall.com/detail.aspx?ID=184

    And bright white: http://www.envelopemall.com/detail.aspx?ID=162

And they have a ton of other sizes if those don't work. They're all about $10/100 envelopes.

    At least 4.5 x 5.75. Finding 4.75 x 6.5 which is totally fine.

Found some better than what I have. It's a little more than I was originally willing to pay but... they're PEEL AND STICK! Can't complain about that for the price!

    Thank you actionenvelope.com!

Try staples and office depot. if u go to the regular envelop section not the ones with all the invite envelopes they have invitation envelopes that are plane white, cream, or a variety of pastels. 100 envelopes 3 different sizes for 10 bucks and some change. u can always make the envelope fancy yourself with monogram stamp etc. you can also buy 250 envelopes for 20 bucks. u can order online or in store

Just curious, who was the online vendor that allowed this mistake? They should have been more willing to correct this problem if they are reputable.

I have also used action envelope, paper presentation and paper-papers for envelopes in small quantities.

I would call the company you got them from and DEMAND they send you FREE evenelopes that actually fit. That is ridiculous.

Do they fit the rsvp card? Because if they do - here's a real time and money saver - fold them in half. I wound up having to do that and everything fit just fine.

Goskell has a good point--if you ordered all this stuff as a package, it shouldn't be your responsibility to fix a size problem (I assumed that you had ordered stuff yourself separately).

wowjunkie's idea is good, too--I've frequently gotten reply envelopes that were folded in stuff.

Try a local printer, no fedex kinkos but a printing company they should be able to get something for you...take in your invite so the can measure and get the same or close to the same paperstock...i cant believe they didnt test it before they printed and mailed it to you...I work for a printer that would have never flied with my boss...lol

Was it the company's mistake or did you order from a bunch of different places? If it's their mistake then you should definitely contact them and have them send you new envelopes in the right size.

I agree, in my business, if my clients are dissatisfied for ANY reason (other than an approved spelling error), it is grounds for immediate reprint at our own expense. Approved errors are reprinted at a reduced cost, but we supply actual printed proofs, not just online viewing for approval.

Just for the record I ordered from two different vendors so it's not their fault. Even though the rsvps are smaller than the invites neither site told me the size of the envelopes so I had no clue this would happen.

I ordered from vistaprint, and had the same issue...so i just bought some cardstock and made pockets, and then went to xpedex(local paper store), and bought match 5x7 envelopes and a2's, for just $20 for all 3 items...and, it only took an hour to put it all together. i just cut the paper to fit the 5x7 envelope, centered the 4x8 invite, then made a pocket on the opposite side for the 4.5x5.5 rsvp and direction cards. to keep em closed, i used like 1/2" ribbon? stuck to paper with glue runner, and a pretty, gold square adhesive tile thingy...took an hour to do like 41?
