Just an article I found on cnn.com about the cost of being a bridesmaid. I thought it was interesting. http://www.cnn.com/2011/LIVING/06/30/bridesmaids.cost/index.html?hpt=li_c1

Where are people finding BM dresses for less than $100? I haven't seen anything in stores that cheap at all.

@cavan- We went shopping in the mall because none of us liked any bridesmaid dresses in the shops, and only ended up spending 60 on each!

Also, I'm not asking my BMs to spend anything- I paid for the dresses, and I will pay for hair and makeup. They can wear whatever shoes they want.

When I was at David's Bridal the dresses we found (and liked) were $179. And we've done the mall thing during prom/grad time as we thought there would be a great selection but no luck at all. Our next step is bridal salons but I expect them to be pricey.

It may be because I am having a formal evening event that requires long dresses. But I can't imagine having my BM's in short dresses in winter.

I love this BM dress cut:

    And it's $60 now!!!

I'm still not sure if I want a MOH and BMs yet though... Still thinking about who I want to ask, if anyone at all. FH is also wavering on this. Don't want to hurt anone's feelings by leaving them out or not giving them MO distinction if they feel they "deserve" it or something silly.
