What is your budget? NYC is a very expensive place for a wedding so that will factor into venue suggestions.

also do you have a preference on location-- manhattan, brooklyn, etc.?

ETA: i have been to weddings at the following venues:

    central park boathouse.

    giandos on the water.

    harold pratt house

    the st. regis hotel.

    brooklyn botanical garden.

    berg'n.

What's your budget? We're having our ceremony in Central Park, and our reception at a venue on CPW, but we're spending $25k for 80 guests, and it's probably the cheapest we could have gotten away with.

@AL - where is your reception? That's a GREAT price for Manhattan!

BookcaseHat, I want to keep it private off the internets, but it's an Italian restaurant in the West 60s.

Depends on your budget and guest count. Literally endless options and I priced nearly 100 venues before deciding.

Similar to A.L, we're having a ceremony in Central Park (Conservatory Garden) and late lunch reception in Tribeca. $16k for 70 guests (not including the HM).

If traditional spaces aren't your thing, I feel like I've seen all the options in NYC. We're getting married at Greenpoint Loft which is an old rope factory from before WWII, but there are other great DIY places. It's helped us keep our costs very reasonable for NYC while having a wedding for 175 people

Thank you Everyone. I have 100k budget for this wedding. I am planning on having my friends and family. With my fiance and I have a big Italian family. I just want a big hall where the dance floor will fit all those people.

I was looking at this venue: Sunset Terrace at Chelsea Piers

It depends on the size of your guest list, budget, and what vibe you're going for. NYC is expensive! I'm having a Manhattan wedding and it's probably going to come out to $45k for 130 guests. I believe that's a steal for Manhattan for that many guests. We saw a lot of places before we decided on our venue. We particularly liked the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens (Atrium), NY Botanical Gardens (Stone Mill), 26 Bridge, the Prospect Park Boathouse, and Studio 450. We ultimately chose our venue because we got a discount for July, were able to find great vendors who work within our budget, and we're able to accommodate a few more guests (as opposed to hosting 80-120 for the same cost or more, depending on the venue).

There are a TON of options for weddings small or large. Good luck!

Sunset Terrace is nice, but for 100k you can afford a LOT nicer.

Yes to Guastavino's. Also, check out Current and the Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers. Those are bigger and nicer than Sunset Terrace.

Other large places that are gorgeous: the Palm House at Brooklyn Botanic Gardens, the Plaza, Prince George Ballroom, Edison Ballroom.

There's an AMAZING hotel in Williamsburg called the William Vale. They have a huge rooftop area, a super swanky bar, and a ultra luxe and modern ballroom. I highly recommend it. The views are fantastic!
