Thank you note for family who partially attended

Stacy, on July 25, 2016 at 6:52 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 5

I am writing my thank you notes and I am stuck on what to do for one of them. My cousin and his wife (and kinda the kids) got us a gift but only one of them was able to attend. How do I thank them for the gift and for the person who came?

Maybe something along the lines of "Thank you so much for the generous gift of X. We were thrilled that Y was able to make it and look forward to being able to visit/catch up with the family soon" - if you feel okay with a noncommittal "lets get together" statement. If you know the others missed because of illness or something, could instead throw in a get well soon statement.

What Karen said And I would write Dear Entire Family, but point out "we were the thrilled that Y could share our special day"
