Thank you cards suggestion

Tiffany, on June 4, 2019 at 1:53 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 25
Have premade thank you cards available at the reception dinner. I got alot of positive feed back. Doesn't need to say anything over the top. This small gesture went a long way. Writing thank you notes after the wedding seemed unlikely. I do intend to sending individual thank you notes sooner than later, but the bulk is already done.

I had premade cards made by vistaprint and just mailed them out yesterday. Took maybe 45min because we just had to address-ink kept smearing on the labels and folding the cards. Hubby passed them out at work individually since that's how he gave out the invite and he said people really appreciated it. I think its important. Ive been to several of his family events (weddings, baby showers, birthday parties) where they expect gifts and they dont send or say thank you and it irks me to no end..so I wanted to make sure that we sent thank you notes out to people. Etiquette says that we have a year but we can do better than that

That's a good idea and time affective. I found a hundred cute thank you cards for $4 total and made it work. And truthfully I didn't want to buy anymore postage stamps, lol. Thank you cards are important to some people and those people will appreciate them. You did the right thing by getting it done. You worked smart, good job.

A “Thank You for coming” note at the wedding is fine but important to note, is absolutely not a replacement for personal thank you cards for any gift received.

That's good idea. I had wanted to do that initially because it saves time from doing it after. But I ended up just deciding to wait to do it to see who really ends up coming aha

    Thank you cards suggestion 2

We did thank you cards on the opposite side of our menu (we had one at each place setting). They didn't take the place of thank you cards for gifts (we still had all of those done and sent out within 2 months), but we figured they were a nice way to say "thank you" for celebrating with us Smiley smile

I had little tiny pre-made thank you cards at each seat that said something along the lines of "thank you for sharing our first meal with us as mr and mrs" but I still sent actual thank you cards to the guests who gifted at the wedding to let them know we really appreciated it.

This is a great idea! Slightly unrelated, but how large are those tables and how many people could you fit comfortably in them? I'm having a hard time deciding on what size tables I need.

I think that is a sweet gesture, but I wouldn't replace the ones sent out by gifts.

I plan on buying an etsy template for thank you cards to create thank you postcards! That way we dont need to worry about envelopes. Just addresses and stamps for the win!

We actually had a buffet too! We just liked the look for having something extra at the place setting since we wouldn't have the actual plates there, and menus were an easy (and cheap) option! People actually really liked that we had the menus available so they could see what would be served before they got in line.

That's really sweet, it's a nice way to make sure you thank everyone in case you can't get around to seeing them during the reception.

I think this is better than no thank you card at all. I personally am handwriting all of them, as I did for the bridal shower & pre-wedding gifts we received. We recently got a thank you card from a wedding with pictures of the bride & groom on it. It was generic, and I was still happy to receive one.
