Thank you card gets shredded in the mail.. 😅

Sara, on January 24, 2020 at 4:57 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 4
So we finally got all our thank you cards written And I took them to the post office yesterday. Today I checked my mail and one got returned.. or rather half of one. Somehow it must’ve gotten torn in half in one of their machines. Luckily the half they were able to salvage had our return address on it and we were able to also see who it belonged to (the best man!). But now I’m worried about this happening with other cards and not finding out about it (like if the half with our return address gets lost). I don’t want anyone to think we didn’t write them a thank you, and we spent SO MUCH time on them 🙃 anyone else ever have this problem?

It's usually a fluke unless the envelopes weren't flat or had some sort of embellishment on them.

I’d totally send the shredded one with a new card to him in the mail. I don’t know about him, but my friends would totally get a kick out of it!! Unfortunately there’s no way to know if any others got eaten by the post office, but that’s something they’re known for and most people are aware of that.

There really is no way of knowing, unfortunately. All we can do is hope that they get delivered and try not to worry as it's out of our control Smiley smile
