My husband asked for suggestions here and there as our friends were getting engaged. He eventually started asking more define questions of cut and style I prefer and would show me pictures and ask me to describe in detail what I like and didn’t like of each ring. I was a little on edge after this for a few months thinking he’ll proposed but it didn’t happen for another year so I was very surprise. He had great taste and designed the ring himself but it was important for him and me to have something to last a lifetime. I don’t really like the whole “upgrade” your ring later because it takes away the meaning. This is why my input was important for him so he’ll pick what I truly love.

I helped pick mine! I was not expecting it at the time though. He was very romantic!

I initially sent my FH pics of a round halo ring off Pinterest, and told him to get me anything similar to that. At this point we hadn’t ever gone in person. He insisted we go in person though, so we did! And all the rings I ended up loving the most were actually very different from one another. But I told him to chose any, and I’d be happy! Here is what he chose

So my ring is very very unique. Last summer, I bought tickets to see Britney Spears and my mom and I joked and said that my dream was to always get a ring at a Britney Spears concert- my two major bucket list items (seeing Britney and getting a ring). My FH just laughed and came up with a plan with my mom- and my mom gave him ring suggestions. I was getting ready for the concert and I was finished, My FH says “Hey Al, you look beautiful and all, but your outfit isn’t complete yet.” And I said “What do you mean?” And he gives me the ring. He said I know you always a ring at a Britney show, but this won’t be your engagement ring. I loved it so much that he used it as my engagement ring when he was ready to propose! It was untraditional and a lot of people don’t understand it, but hey it’s us!

My husband picked mine out completely on his own. We had originally picked out a ring together and had it on layaway. We had some unexpected expenses come up and cancelled the layaway. About a year later he surprised me with a proposal and a completely different ring. He said he went to the jewelry store with the other ring in mind and then just couldn't see me wearing that ring. He picked out the perfect ring for me it's totally different than what we had originally picked out but it's perfect.

He wanted me to pick a ring as he says its going to be on my finger for the rest of my life and he wanted me to love it not like it. We had gone ring shopping a couple times and saw some that were really nice but wasn't in love with them. He also knows that my late grandfather was a jeweler and knew he taught me well lol so he may have been a bit intimidated to pick something out on his own.

We ended up going to a friend's jeweler and the jeweler asked me questions and said he would design something special for me based on my answers. They (FH & jeweler) then asked if I wanted to try the ring once it was finished and I said no. I was confident they could design something I would love and I must say...I L💖VE my ring!!! It would defintely have my grandfathers approval!!

My ring is a 1 carat emerald cut center surrounded by a pave vintage halo set on a cathedral setting on a pave diamond band in yellow gold. The detail however is what has my jaw on the floor. The jeweler added a pave diamond to each PRONG that holds the center stone in place 😲 and my FH had it engraved with "You're an answer to prayer" 😍😭💍🙏

He proposed at sunset while on a mini getaway for our 2 yr anniversary on a cute airbnb farm in Oceanside, CA that overlooks a lake. It was defintely a surprise. He said he was going to play a video of pics 2 yrs together. The 2nd part of video had pics of a lot of friends and family from different parts of the world with signs for me to say YES!!

I made a Pinterest board for my FH! I wanted it to be a surprise, but I wanted to make sure he knew the style I liked!

I am a #truemillennial because I wanted a rose gold ring. I wanted a bit of swirly-ness on the edges and a round stone. I like simple, so I had reassured him it didn't need to be anything super fancy.

He did an amazing job finding a gorgeous ring from Etsy! It's rose gold with a morganite stone that has a lovely rosey tint and even reminds me of a rose. (I like florals a lot!)

Sometimes I find myself staring at it and just fangirling over him finding a ring that matches me so well.
