Tattooed Brides !!??!!

I think they'll be fine, but it's whatever you're most comfortable with. On another note I'm having my honeymoon in St. Thomas! Seems like no one else on this board is going to USVI!

I only have 1 tattoo on my foot, but i always do my best to show it off whenever I dress up. I wont buy heels if they cover my tattoo. I got it for a reason and i love to show it off. sure- wearing a long wedding dress most people wont see it- but you better believe i'm going to have it showed off in at least a few pictures.

the only time i don't like tattoos mixed with formal wear is when the dress covers half the tattoo. then it (to me) it looks like you just don't care about the tattoo. IMHO, either hide it or display it (if you have a choice)

It's who you are and it shouldn't be hidden for anyone

I honestly think its more tacky to hide them YOUR FH loves you with them and IF you love them then why hide it . I have several that will show in my dress and I was worried about it but im confident that it wont matter cause I know i will look amazing no matter what mine is on my back which is my least favorite spot because I have a crooked spine. So for me my tattoos draw away from my back. And i honestly dont care if ppl think its tacky cause I love them

Thanks soo much ladies!!! I am going to let mine show with pride :o) I feel a whole lot better about the whole thing now. While planning a wedding I see I am letting others opinions get to me and I have to learn not to do that!! Its all about me and my FH.

I even had friends and family disappointed at the fact that I chose the US Virgins Islands for my wedding, but it makes me happy so I am sticking to it.

Ali W . Cool!! Conrats... I love St Thomas!! We will be cruising the Royal Caribbean Allure of the Seas and getting married on the island when we port. I am soo excited!! Its such a beautiful island. One of my favorite!! We havent planned a honeymoon yet. I think we will end up just doing Hawaii though.

You got the tats for a reason, don't conform, be yourself =) I'm sporting mine and adding a peacock feather to my calf in a few weeks =) dress is tea length lol luv my INK!

I agree I wouldn't cover it up. I got 8 and almost all mine are kinda visible, I agree just be yourself (:

I'm covering up 3 of my 4 tattoos. ...I'm covering the ones on my arms and my back, I'm leaving the one on my leg even though I'll be wearing a shorter dress...honestly its all personal opinion, if you don't mind them who cares if someone else does

My friend got married last weekend and as soon as she got engaged she got a back piece done that covers her whole back. Her dress had a cut-out in the back that showed about 99% of it. I thought it looked great and really let her personality shine through!

Another friend of mine showed me picture from her wedding. She has about 5 different pieces on her back and she specifically got a dress to show them off. Not only that, but she also put some stick-on jewels around them to highlight them.

I adore tattooed brides! Rock them out with pride! FH and I are both HEAVILY tattooed, and we'll be showing all of ours. We both have sleeves so I dont think we could really cover them if we wanted. As long as its not a tramp stamp I say its ok! I love seeing alternative and tatted brides.

I am quite well uhm 'covered' one of my ink masterpieces being a full back piece. I will NOT be covering them.. my personal opinion is that if i was ashamed of them i wouldnt have gone thru the pain and money to have them. its who i am...and all of my tattoos were well thought out and have a lot of sentimental meaning. truly ive had people who 'hate tattoos' ask me about them and once i tell them the stories behind them..they compliment them. my feelings are anyone who would dare call my tattoos 'trashy' will not be welcome at my wedding.

I have 9 tattoos 5 will be showing on my wedding day. Its not trashy at all the tattoos are part of you. Its your decision if you would like them to be covered.

I have 10 tattoos....5 of which wil probably show in my strapless gown! I will not be covering them up. Let your personality show

I have 2 tattoos.. but only the wings on my back will show.. And I am NOT covering them. I like my tats and like to show them off. This is what mine will look like

I don't think they look trashy at all.

I have a tattoo that goes across most of my upper back, and another that is on my back shoulderblade. Both showed with my dress. DH also has many tatts, but most of his were covered by his shirt until he rolled up his sleeves.

I believe that if you and your FH don't feel it's trashy, and the tattoos are part of who you are, then go for it! Don't let someone else's opinion keep you from expressing yourself. Your wedding is about you, not other people's opinions.

I say...Rock your tatts proudly!

I really dont have a problem with tattoos, i have 3. but i purposely got mine in places where unless im in a bathing suit of not wearing anything they are hidden. i didn't want them to be distracting on my wedding day and in a professional setting. i was 18 and 19 when i got them and i'm really glad i got them in discreet places.

Samazing, this is exactly what I needed to see. My tattoo is VERY similar to yours, almost exact same size just with added scrolls with names in the middle of my back. I think it looks great. Perfectly fine!! I am going to have someone take a pic of my in my dress from the back as well :o)

I have five tattoos and three will most likely be showing on my wedding day, I have libra scales on my upper back, my nickname (rabbit) in manderin on the back of my neck and a treble cleff on my left forearm. I'm not covering them, and I usually don't listen to anyone about what they think of my tattoos, I'm also not taking out my piercings... they make me who I am, and like someone else said, I went through the pain and money to have them done, why not show them off? I don't have pics of me in my dress(haven't gotten it yet) but I have pics of my friend and her sister getting ready for her wedding, both have tattoos...

I could only find the one picture, I can't find her friends...
