Tattooed Brides !!??!!

No it wont be trashy its a part of who you are and ppl should understand that, a friend of mine just got married and she had a strapless gown and everyone could see her tattoos and no one said nething about it being trashy...i want a strapless gown and i have tattoo on my right shoulder and will prolly get another one before i get married and im not gonna worry about covering them up

I think it looks trashy, but I don't like tattoos. One of my friends just got married and her arm tattoo prominently shows and everyone at work who saw the picture (she used to work at this off) was shocked she had a tattoo and that was the only thing anyone focused on.

If it's part of you though and you love it why do you care if I think it's trashy?

I have a very large pair of wings on my shoulders and im getting them touched up before the wedding because I will be showing them off. The idea of ink being trashy is almost a thing of the past since it is SO common now

I don't think it's trashy at all. I wouldn't cover it up unless you don't really like it, which is obviously not true. The tattoo has meaning and you got it for a reason, so show that puppy off. However my opinion may be biased since I love a good tattoo!!

Thanks soo much guys. That makes me feel a lot better. LOL I guess everyone just has their own personal opinion on it and I don't really see the problem either. A few people have asked "are you going to cover it up?" And i'm like "Am I supposed to" LOL I am not going to worry about it. Like you said its a part of who we are. Thanks

I have 3 tattooes, and love Tats, but not in formal pictures. So I'm going to have mine covered up. But that's just how I feel

I dont find it trashy at all... half my back in tattoed and I'm proud of every one i have. I got them for a reason. A few people asked me the same thing, and I was like uhh nope, i didn't get them to be embaressed about them. And FH said he loves them and wouldnt want it any other way with them showing, it's who I am and I shouldnt change that just for a wedding, we are marrying eachother not the guests

I have a tattoo on my shoulder blade that shows that I did not cover up. My veil kind of blocked it for the most part but it was visible. 3 of my 4 bridesmaids have tattoos on their backs as well. I did not make any of them cover theirs. They are part of us and we got them for a reason. I don't personally think it took anything away from our photos. These are just shots people took, but keep in mind most of them won't be of your back anyway. I had to look to try to find some to show you. I don't think they looked trashy at all. JMO

If you love your tattoo, then there is nothing to worry about! show it with pride!

I have 5 tattoos... I have an upper back piece, one on each upper arm and one on each leg... Although the leg ones won't be showing because of the dress, I wont be covering up my other ones.

They are who you are and you got them for a reason. Most likely everyone attending your wedding has already seen them anyways. I think the only way someone would find this trashy is if they just hate tattoos in general and etc. BUT I wouldn't worry about other people. It is YOUR wedding day!

The only way I would cover up a tattoo is if it looked crappy and needed touch ups / fixed and I didn't get it taken care of before the wedding.

Also, I know someone who tried to cover hers up and not only could you tell that she had one, but you could tell she tried to cover it up. It showed in her wedding pictures too! I think that is more "trashy" looking

I personally get very distracted by tacky tattoos at formal events.. tacky ones. It sounds like yours are very special and you should be proud of them tho. Show them off! They are a part of you!

Also, I was looking at your photos.. you and your FH are so cute together! congrats!

I admit when getting my tattoos done I spesifically avoided my arms and upper back because I knew that when I got married I wouldn't want them showing. But that's just my preference. Mind you, since deciding this, I do now have a tiny star on my wrist which I won't be covering.

I have found that when it comes to wedding planning you get a lot of conflicting opinions and I have even seen a side of a people and loved ones I never imagined could be lol Great learning experience!!!

Brandi D. I absolutely LOVE your pics. I don't think it took away from the photos at all. They are beautiful!!! I'm just going to go ahead and be me. That's all there is to it!!

My FH agrees as well. He says I couldn't look trashy even if I tried.:o) It is about us, that is all that matters!!!

Thank you Desiree! I had to look hard to find pics that had tattoos showing. So those pics are not the best.

On a funny note. One of my BM's has the same tattoo as me (just the one on my shoulder blade). We just have different initials inside of it. We got them when we were 18 and yes they do have meaning and we actually designed them somewhat ourselves. I got mine touched up before the wedding though. Anyway, my cousins fiance came up to me at the reception and asked "does your BM have the same tattoo as you". I just laughed and said yes. That's the only thing anyone said about any of our tattoos.

Sorry, I have to show these off. I LOVE my husbands tattoos. He has a couple that are portraits of our kids when they were 6 months old (our son is now 11 and our daughter is almost 2). :-)

Tattoos are who you are. By all means let them show. I have 3 of mine that will be showing on our big day.
