Kayla

I first met Joey in May of 2008 at a store we both worked at. We really hit it off talking about music since I was going to school for music business and he was the guitar player for a band. We were dating but never called each other boyfriend and girlfriend, although he wanted to. For months we were planning our first trip together to Disneyland and I was secretly planning to make him my boyfriend on our first ride.  On 10/10/2008 we took our trip to Disneyland just the two of us. Our first ride was Pirates of the Caribbean since it means so much to me because of the memories of my parents together. So as the ride starts down the quiet bayou I lean over and whisper, “I’m so happy to be here with my boyfriend”. He was so excited we decided to make our relationship serious and start planning a future together. The next year we went back to celebrate on our anniversary by having a beautiful dinner at the Blue Bayou which sits inside the pirates ride and overlooks the place where we became boyfriend and girlfriend. December 2010 went back with my mom around Christmas time since we have both never seen the decorations. Of course our first ride was Pirates of the Caribbean, so as we pass the spot of our cherished memory I whisper in his ear, “I’m so happy to be here with my boyfriend” just to bring up the memory. As I whispered that he turned to me and said, “No, I’m so happy to be here with my fiancé, Kayla will you marry me?”
