Take Home Cake Box**PIC**

Toni-Marie, on April 12, 2012 at 2:13 PM Posted in Planning 0 27

I found these and thought this was a cute way to send the guest off with slices of cake— (I'll change the bow to black)

What you think? 24ct for $9

I actually went to our local Restaurant Store and got 125 for $25

EDIT: I think those are really cute but you could probably get the ones I ordered and add a bow for a more cost effective approach.

I like the boxes too Toni, but I agree with ladies about finding a better price, I decided to go with cake bags, I'm thinking about adding a small green pre-tied ribbon, but will see.

Keep in mind - most of your cake slices won't be pie shaped - usually they cut square slices

    but its a cute idea!

Cute idea Toni! Did you check smartyhadaparty.com or efavors.com? they're normally cheaper than party city.

@ RWC- ours is being cut in a pie shape so we have no worries Smiley smile and even if they were cut in square slices, its big enough to fit the piece of cake.

@ Mouche- just be careful with the cake bags because the icing tends to end up all over the bag instead of staying on the cake from what I was advised by our venue.

The only caution I'd make is to remember that you'd need to have someone to set up all those boxes, then cut up the cake and put the slices into them. We actually had some cake boxes, but ended up not using them because it was just too much of a hassle.

I bought bags, too, and my mom HATES them, but I like them. I even bought matching stickers to keep them shut on the guests' drive home....and they won't be placed in a way that all of the icing gets stuck, so it should be fine.

I showed mom the wedding cake box/slices and she wants me to get those, but I love my bags and they got great reviews at Orientaltrading.com.

@ 2d Bride- I am hoping the cater staff will do that since the cake cutting and serving is including in his price. Kepping fingers crossed

Honey B.....I can't seem to get anything on that link.

Toni....I Love the wedges and thought about getting them, but I was afraid the size of the slices would be square. Cate's venue gives her a choice. Since she is having a Viennese table, she can either cut some of the cake and put some in take away boxes or cut and box the entire cake. They even provide the boxes, but they are black.

I am either buying pink boxes and putting her monogram business card on them or using the free black boxes and putting her monogram busienss card on them. The boxes I am looking for are not personalized. For 100 plain pink boxes, it is $29.99 from efavormart.com.

I'm considering either the ones Carole B posted, with their printing on it or this by a an etsy vendor

We are having a brunch the next day so I figure if I have any leftover then people can use them to take pastries and such for the road trip home.

All very cute. I decided not to inherit that expense, if they want to eat cake, they better eat it there @ the reception or take some home in napkins. May sound cruel but I am @ the oh well point right now. They are going to have good food, good party, good favors and a good time. I don't think they will miss cake boxes. I won't either.

Wow, is this really me? I guess this is what happens when you hit the 58 day mark til the wedding.
