Sweetheart Table or Head Table?

Which seating arrangement are you choosing for your wedding: a sweetheart table (just you and your new spouse) or a head table (you, your new spouse, and wedding party members)? Or maybe even a different option altogether? Share what you're choosing for your reception seating arrangements!

I love that you're including the spouses of the wedding party at your head table!

Very cool that you're able to create a table for each side of the wedding party! My husband and I weren't able to do that since one of my bridesmaids is married to one of his groomsmen, so we ended up just scattering the wedding party with their plus ones among the rest of our guests.

I definitely appreciated our sweetheart table for this reason - once the formal reception events were over, my husband and I were pulled in so many directions: dancing with friends, playing lawn games with family, going down to the beach to take photos and video at sunset, chatting with friends and family around the venue, etc. It was nice to have the sweetheart table, where my husband and I could spend a few moments together on our wedding day.

Will your table be in the center of the venue, and the tables with your guests all around you?

I hadn't really thought about that particular seating arrangement. Our dance floor is actually in the middle. That is a great idea though❤️

That's a clever seating arrangement! Gives the best of all worlds: wedding party can sit with their significant others, you get your sweetheart table, and your wedding party will all still be seated near you.

We are choosing a sweetheart table, since we are having an intimate wedding under 50 guests and our venue is rather on the small side.

I agree, there are positive aspects to both options! It's very considerate of you to make sure that the wedding party members get to sit with their partners.

I love your reasoning for doing a head table! I agree, it's totally personal preference. My husband and I chose a sweetheart table for a couple different reasons, but I also think a head table would have been fun! Like you said it's a great way to spend time with those who are closest to you.

I didn't even think of that as an option, i like the idea but thinking logistically i would like to face everyone otherwise we would have our backs to people.

A sweetheart table is a great way for you to build in those few moments alone with your new spouse on the wedding day!

Does your venue provide tables or chairs? Or are you looking to rent them?

Very cool! Will you be seating your wedding party all at their own table? Or will they be seated among the rest of the guests?
