Sweetheart Table or Head Table?

Which seating arrangement are you choosing for your wedding: a sweetheart table (just you and your new spouse) or a head table (you, your new spouse, and wedding party members)? Or maybe even a different option altogether? Share what you're choosing for your reception seating arrangements!

We haven’t decided yet, probably with the guests.

That makes sense! One thing you might want to do is provide a few extra tables and seats - people typically don't seat themselves efficiently when there's open seating, so having extra spots will help prevent couples from being split up during dinner due to not enough seats at a single table, or will help prevent people from dragging 12 chairs around an 8-person table, etc.

We are doing a Sweetheart table. Our wedding is going to be on the smaller side, so we will still be close and accessible to anyone who wants to come and chat. Everyone in our bridal party has families, so we figured it would work better to give ourselves the illusion of quiet time and for them to sit at a table with their family.

Very cool! Are you seating your wedding party at their own table? Or will they be seated among the rest of the guests?

This sounds like a neat setup! I like that you get the best of both worlds.

Awesome! Are you also seating your wedding party's plus ones at the head table? Or will they be seated elsewhere?

My husband and I ditched our sweetheart table as soon as dinner was over for the same reason, lol! Sounds like you have a good plan for the seating arrangement. What kind of decor will your table have on it?

    Sweetheart table!

We wanted our bridal party members to be able to sit with their significant others and I fell in love with some sweetheart table decor. Our venue is large, so we wanted to be a little separate in seating from the guests and have a mix of round tables with 7-8 people and then three long farmhouse tables of 10.

Very cool! The sweetheart table is a good option, though it's not for everyone. What negative aspects of the sweetheart table are holding you back from finalizing your decision?

I love this idea! I'm also not a fan of feeling like I'm being watched while I eat lol, so I totally understand how a kings table would be easier. It's also nice that you'll get to enjoy a meal with your wedding party all together!

The placeholder seats at your table are such a sweet way to honor your parents, as well as honoring his parents by seating them at your table too. I really like the seating arrangement you chose!

Have you checked the vendor tab here on WeddingWire to find companies that rent tables and chairs? That would be a good place to start!
