Sweetheart Table or Head Table?

Which seating arrangement are you choosing for your wedding: a sweetheart table (just you and your new spouse) or a head table (you, your new spouse, and wedding party members)? Or maybe even a different option altogether? Share what you're choosing for your reception seating arrangements!

Love it! Do you have photos of the sweetheart table decor? I'd love to see what it looks like!

We chose to do a sweetheart table. I would love to have our party sit with their loved one(s) or guest. I also realized that the weddings I have been in or to, no one stays seated at that table for very long.

I personally like the head of the table seating arrangement (when you have long tables) my venue (that I’m in love with ) unfortunately have circle tables and sweetheart table. Both my finance and I are super active and can hardly sit for a minute anyway - so it wasn’t a dealbreaker for us. I’ve read that a lot of people can hardly eat on their wedding day, especially if they’re at a sweetheart table. In my opinion it’s because going from the rush of the day, being surrounded by so many people to just sitting “by yourselves” for like 15 minutes to eat is jarring. Especially because it’s a very intense emotional day.

I think a better idea is to set some time aside almost immediately after the ceremony to collect yourselves and have a snack.

We are having both. A table for the party and one for my love and I!
