SPINOFF: Does anyone have a small engagement ring? And...

SLE to SLG, on February 12, 2015 at 9:54 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 85

...do you love it? What wedding band did/are you getting?

My ring is a round cut, solitaire, about .25 carat diamond, and I adore it. I'm hoping to go look at wedding bands with FH this weekend, and was wondering what the ladies of WW have, like and/or recommend?

Say 0.5 carats or less? I don't recall the carat weight of my ring, but comparing to google, I think its about 0.25-ish?

I think mine is on the smaller side but I do love it! It's the ring my dad have his wife when they married 20 years ago. They offered it to FH, he gladly accepted. So did I Smiley smile

The diamond is "small" compared to the big solitaires that are trendy right now, but the setting is large and stylized. Rings that are nothing more than a plain band meant to mount the largest rock you/he/she can afford just don't do it for me. My ring is an art-deco one that is almost 100 years old, and very unique. I love it! My band is a very thin (closely) matching antique with a row of 5 tiny mine-cut diamonds. They look great together.

Mine is considered small, but I adore it. It came with a band.

My e ring is .5, it's a3 stone with stones on the band. I am planning on getting bands with stones in them. One on each side of the e ring.

Not sure what you consider small. My e-ring is a 1/2 carat. ETA: I don't mind the size. Anything looks big on my freakishly small hand!

This is mine. It's a marquis cut with a tenth of a carat diamond that my fiance got at a pawn shop. And I love it!

I see lots of engagement rings that girls are wearing into the DB that I work at, and they're HUGE! I don't know how they can pick up their hands with diamonds that big! Lol

My centre stone is .5 carat and I have smaller stones around my band that bring the total weight up to .72. Definitely small compared to rings I see here, but amongst my family, my ring is huge lol! I adore it, he got it totally right for me. Smiley smile

Not at all @Mrs Robin Valentine, I wouldve been happy with any ring no matter what size, it's always the gesture that counts x

My ring isn't small, but it isnt a diamond. It has a pretty unique look & it's a white sapphire. But the first thing I said to him was OMG it's too big... Its not my style at all to have such a huge ring, I think simple is more me. But in the end BIG or SMALL, it's not the size that really matters, it' not the value, its the meaning behind it.

1/2 carat princess cut solitaire. I love it, I'm not a flashy person, so I didn't need anything larger than that. I love the simplicity of it. I'm just planning on going with a small band diamond band to compliment the solitaire.

.52ct round brilliant cut that is suuuper sparkly. It's in a diamond setting so my ring is 1ct tw. It's on a super thin band. It's definitely then smallest center stone of my friends.

I did love it and then heard some not so nice things about it, said to me, so I had a love-hate thing going with it. But we just got my band which is 5 diamonds totalling a little more than .5ct and I reeeally love them together!

My engagement ring would be considered small, but it is so me. It consists of 3 stones, a larger middle one and two small ones. I am not a flashy person, don't wear jewlery and due to my line of work, a big ring would likely get the diamond knocked off it. He did perfect. The ring was not brand new and that was okay with me, as we live a pretty simple life and when I saw the ring I actually stressed out about what he might have spent. I was happy when I found out it was used

At the wedding our Officiant did "the blessing of the rings" ceremony and all of our guests joined in prayer. I wear my wedding set proudly & knowing that it was blessed by all.

Thanks Alexis. It's been a wierd thing though, I've heard some rude-esque comments about it. "Oh that's...dainty" "petite" etc

JK8115 - You just heard from some crappy people. Because when I see your ring I go "Woah!" because I think it has A LOT going on. Yeah, it's not a 3 carat solitaire, but I hate solitaries. Not my style. I would MUCH rather prefer your ring over a 1 carat solitaire or larger. Honestly, your ring would be my second choice behind mine if I were still shopping. It would be a definite contender. It's gorgeous. Honestly.
