SPINOFF: Does anyone have a small engagement ring? And...

...do you love it? What wedding band did/are you getting? My ring is a round cut, solitaire, about .25 carat diamond, and I adore it. I'm hoping to go look at wedding bands with FH this weekend, and was wondering what the ladies of WW have, like and/or recommend?

I understand why people finance. It's not for me. Stuff happens and I never want to go through financial instability ever again lol. H did open a card to get my ring because they wouldn't take a check for the amount he paid and his amex declined the charge for the same reason. I also will not ever finance a car again if I can help it.

Oh, I am for sure not shaming anyone who finances, trust me. Honest to God, if it were an option, we probably would have financed some part of this process or the honeymoon, but it's simply not for us. I have a child who will be heading into college in the next few years and a home to buy. It was what it was for us, cash wise, with the rings and the wedding and unfortunately the honeymoon too.

I actually don't have a regular e-ring. I didn't want a center stone, and I didn't want something that would catch on everything, or that I'd have to worry about being lost, damaged or stolen (I work with sketchy people). I also have really tiny fingers, and everything I tried on made me feel like a trophy wife. So, I opted for two channel set rings, with the wedding band being smaller than the e-ring. I don't know the total amount of diamonds, but it's a good quality ring and is quite sparkly. It needs to be cleaned right now though.

ETA: I picked it out and it's a good thing I did, cause it turns out I'm super picky lol. I also didn't want FH to spend more than 1k on it, cause I'd rather that money be spent elsewhere in the wedding. Having a bigger ring wouldn't make me any more married.

Mine is a small ruby and i adore it.....ive had people mock it for being small but then again those people suck so idgaf. for the wedding band im getting a slightly curved band with rubies along the top, the rubies on the band are bigger then my engagement ruby and it looks amazing together. i cant wait to go pick it up.

I definitely do! Mine is maybe .25 carats, tops. I've never really checked. My wedding band is diamonds and emeralds. I found the band separately. I absolutely love my rings! I much, much prefer simple yet pretty and classic jewelry. Plus, I personally wouldn't want H to spend a lot. Its just pointless to me to put so much money into a ring, as timeless as it is.

Mine's pretty big, but it's an aquamarine. We were both born in March, and it's our birthstone. Diamonds don't hold any emotional meaning to me, but I have to confess, I wanted a decent sized stone. I love my ring, and I get more compliments on it.

I love my ring, and I get more compliments on it than I ever got on my 1 carat diamond engagement ring I had for my first engagement.

I actually have no idea what size or clarity my ring is. I know it was important for him to get me a good quality diamond and I know he paid just under $6K with it being on sale lol. I was more concerned with how much he spent because I'm frugal when it comes to myself, I almost had a heart attack when I found out!

I have a .75 solitaire diamond and I've definitely gotten the "oh, that's so dainty!" comment. So flipping rude!

Guys... I had a jeweler inform us it was a nice "starter" ring. Hahaha. What the fuck, we BOUGHT the damn ring there a year prior, and it's already just a starter?! Insane.

For those wondering, the hammered band I had a picture of can be bought here:

My ring isn't huge but that's exactly what I told him I wanted and I couldn't be happier with it! Something simple, classic and the diamond is great quality. I'm not really a fan of halo style engagement rings even though they look bigger. My hands are so small and my ring size is only 4.5 so I don't think I'd want anything bigger than this
