Sorority Wedding Traditions!

I'm a AKA , I know my girls mentioned doing a serenade and stroll . My FH is also a Kappa he wants to step with his brothers.

I know some sorority ladies/fraternity guys and they sometimes stroll at the reception.

I've been to weddings where the bride's sorority sisters sing their sorority's blessing song or pref song. I'm a Gamma Phi, but I don't think any sisters are planning to sing at the reception! It would be cool, but we'll take photos with our sign! Here's my senior year roommate and MOH doing our crescent photo at my engagement party!

I'm a Zeta Tau Alpha. There's no wedding traditions I can think off the top of my head, although my chapter surrounds people and sways when Wagon Wheel comes on. I'm expecting the same thing to happen with FH and I in the middle.

I'm an alpha gamma delta. We have a song specific to our chapter that we sing for various occassions. This pic is from my friends wedding last May. Sometimes we sing an extra song from our recruitment songs on a whim. I'm hoping enough of my sisters can make it to my wedding to be able to do it.

I'm a delta epsilon beta alumni - not doing anything special though. Maybe just a group picture though

Hello fellow Sigma Kappa sister!! I don't know if I'm going to do anything sorority related but, I would love to incorporate the violet in some way. Maybe add it in my bouquet? I am having purple in my wedding so it may be easy for me to add it. Although, I do have time to plan so I'll be waiting for those details later.

Oh and I'm thinking pearls will be added as well!

I'm a Phi Mu. We too have a sweet song that's specific to our chapter about being a family even when we form new families. We will probably gather for that and a quick cheer during the reception!

I'm an Alpha Sigma Tau - we have a specific song and then we sing our chapter song (Paradise by the Dashboard Light - Meatloaf). Yes it's 9 minutes long...thanks to the 80's for that one. It's a lot of fun though!

My FH is a Tau Kappa Epsilon and they sing their Sweetheart song and then do a chant.

TWO SISTERS!!! @Holz and @Tiffany S I'm SK too =D One BM is my big and another one of my littles, another deactivated in her last year but I secretly still count her. I've seen wearing pins and having them on bouquets, though I'd be worried about taking those off in case they get misplaced.

I'm a member of Delta Sigma Theta and we will be doing our song that we usually do at weddings. I don't we will stroll. FH is an Iota and they will do something as well.

I'm a Theta Phi Alpha alum and we always sing our chapter song at a sorority sisters wedding if there is enough of us.

I'm Sigma Phi Lambda (not Panhellenic) and we usually don't do anything at weddings but we do a candlelight circle at chapter when a sisters gets engaged. It's super sweet especially if the sister keeps her engagement quiet until then.

Hey Leona! I'm also an AST. There's a national wedding song that my sisters will sing in a circle around us and our chapter has a song that'll we'll play: For Good from Wicked. It'll be a tear jerker for sure.

We're also thinking about having a yellow rose for sisters to pin on their shirts if they'd like but it looks like we'll only have four that aren't already in our wedding party.

ETA: My big is my MOH and my little is a BM and I'm "borrowing" their pins for my bouquet as something borrowed as well.

I am a Phi Mu and as a pledge, we had a night where we wore PJs to the sorority house. There, we went around to the the rooms of the girls who lived in the house, which were all themed, and answered trivia questions/learned about the older sisters in the house/Phi Mu history and when we got questions correct, we were giving little opaque beads.

Now fast forward to our weddings, the little bag of beads we received that night are to be sewn on the hem of our wedding dresses. My big and little are both bridesmaids and will be sewing the beads I received from sisters 5ish years ago on my dress hem on my wedding day.

Also- pretty sure we will do our "take a shot" chant
