Small gazebo wedding-Stand or Sit?

thenewmrsthang, on May 28, 2015 at 11:11 AM Posted in Planning 0 6

I've chosen the gazebo at a public park for my wedding. I would like all my guests inside the gazebo and plan to have 30-40. I'm trying to figure out if my guests will stand or sit. I'm having a small, cocktail reception right after at the same location so I want to take that into consideration as well regarding comfort of my guests. I would like to do it 5pm - 8pm because it will be in August and hot. Plus we have to clean up at dark. Any suggestions?

We went to a DW a couple years ago for one of FH's friends and it was in a Gazebo over the ocean...there actually were not chairs and about the same amount of people. Since the ceremony only lasted about 20 minutes at the most, it wasn't a bother to us. I actually didn't even notice until AFTER that there weren't any chairs!

Yes have enough chairs for everyone. Perhaps even have some cold water prior to the ceremony so that people don't overheat.

A seat for EVERY guest. No exceptions. Even if that means they end up sitting outside the gazebo. Women in heels do not do well standing for long periods of time. Plus it will still be warm at that time (and muggy depending on where you live).

Please have seating! Standing for a wedding as a guest is no fun. Plus it's much harder for those of us who are short to see what's going on.
