Small busted bride w/ sweetheart dress, bra help wanted!

Anonymous, on April 29, 2012 at 1:47 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 19

Hi ladies, so I attached some pictures of my dress. If you look at the back it has a small "V" where you can see the black bra that I was wearing that day...I don't want that happening on my wedding day LOL. But I don't know what kind of bra to get! I need lift and padding, both are essential. Any suggestions ladies?

Also, If you can see in the front picture, the front of the dress is very "Shelfed" where it is completely off my chest (because of my small bust). Its not really touching my skin at all at this point. My seamstress said she can tuck that in towards my chest a little better, but I'm afraid of my bra showing in the front as well.

Try this site, and search "strapless bras low back." Have you tried one of the adhesive, backless bras? If you're small busted that may be the way to go. Smiley smile

Have you gone to a specialty store? Also, a friend of mine had a bra made into her dress.

Have you thought about just having cups sewn into your dress? It won't peek out anywhere, and alterations will take care of the "shelf" issue.

When you have it altered, have your seamstress sew in cups. You can ask specifically for some with some padding and lift if that is what you want. When the top is properly fitted, it also will sit close to your body.

Don't wear a bra! Have cups sewn in. You don't want to be self conscious about your bra showing! If the dress is altered to fit you the cups will give you the lift you need. Trust me... I'm in the same boat!!

I have a similar shaped dress, and a GENEROUS (insert sarcasm here) A cup. I'm not wearing a bra. If you're uncomfortable with this, I suggest having cups sewn into the dress.

There are also silicone adhesive cups you could wear for lift and a bit of padding but I agree with the others - have your seamstress sew cups in the dress. You will be much more comfortable that the girls won't be shifting around too much!

When the seamstress sews in cups, how does that work? Do you buy a bra w/ cups that fit (i.e. a strapless bra) and have her disassemble it?

    Hi Collen, there are some opinions for you;

1.alter the dress as possible as your seemstress can supply

2.it seems like the lace up of your dress ,so it is possible to more tighter for you body

3.wear a plus size and thick nubra, it might be help, one photo atteched on

I'm having cups sewn in, and they give me a lift. I actually have cleavage, which never happens. So ask your seamstress.

My girl just took them out of a corset and sewed them into the dress. No problem.

Most Seamstresses will have bra cups to sew in to your dress.

Also - if you really want to wear the bra, you can have snaps sewn in between the bra and the dress at strategic places, to keep the dress covering the bra.

What an absolutely stunning dress! There are plenty of solutions you can look into! If you want to do the bra less route you can, but you could have the awful chicken fillet sweat when you take it off!

Also you seamstress can add cups to your dress. When i was looking for my underwear my friend sent me this great little blog and really helped my decide if i wanted no bra, bra, longline or chicken fillets! I hope it helps you- it made me realize underwear was an important part to the day!!

Why thanks for all the compliments on my dress ladies!

I called my seamstress today bc my "final" fitting is this Friday. She said to 1) Buy a nude, padded bra and keep the tags on to try it with the dress. She also said to buy the cups so that if I don't like the bra with it i can leave the cups at the store and she can keep it a few more days and sew them in.

The nice thing about the dress is it has the corset back so that should squeeze things in super tight, I just really wanna make sure there's some cleavage. Please cross your fingers for me ladies that on Friday I see cleav!! Haha
