I just think its a good idea i look at it in a different way. Why the heck not sell a plus size cake topper. What is so wrong with that? Id prefer a curvy cake topper over a skinny one anyway.

I'm going to expose THE BIG LIE. Ready? Here it is.

THE BIG LIE is told to women and girls, frequently to sell something but not always. It says "If you change something about your body, people will love you and you will love yourself. You are not lovable the way you are."

Fuggetaboutit. I will not buy the lie or this product.

Like some previous posters said, it's just a clever form of marketing. who doesnt want to look their best for their wedding? lighten up folks.

I'm not sorry if that sounded rude at all they are funny there's no way around that. However I don't want people to think I am laughing at overweight brides. The majority of the girls on here are plus sized. I am in that category. Doesn't that right there tell you that men love some big women (and skinny women). Yes there are men out there that want a little women but the majority would rather have a woman with curves. My FH loves thick thighs. It would be kinda difficult for a weight loss company to advertise to "skinny" brides. Get over it.

Slim fast is pretty much in trouble lol... why make /poke fun at your "fluffy" gals who pad your wallet?

NB10: I actually created the page today after posting a link to the Fatshionista blog post, and having people ask if there was a boycott page. I searched and there wasn't, so I figured I'd make one.

Tiffani: Ultimately, the ad isn't just "for" fat women. It may be targeting them as the most likely market, but it's something that ALL women see, and absorb in some way. It promotes the Big Lie that Miss Michal described, and while it confirms to fat women that there is something "wrong" with them according to prevailing norms, it also warns skinny women that if their bodies change, then they'll be "wrong," too. It may not bother you, but it bothers me. More so these days, I think, because I'm thinking about having kids and all the ridiculous crap just waiting for them out in the world ESPECIALLY if they're girls.

I think it is soo funny! it is a bit mean tho! and i can understand where people come from being offended. and then the little saying at the bottom "need to lose a little weight before the wedding" i think is the icing on the cake...no pun intended!

One of the commentors on the article said it best: "The advertisements are shocking, and memorable, which was the intent. Whether or not they are insensitive doesn't necessarily matter in marketing."

If you chose to pause, at all, or make a comment, the marketers have done their job. Based on the fact that they made national headlines, I'd say this campain is far from over.

But, like I said before, this is nothing new. All of their ads are the same, this one just happens to feature a bride. Clearly, it's working.

Again, I am FAR more offended by the ads featuring skinny women drinking slimfast, as if they need to look like a skeleton.

However, it is my choice NOT to be offended.

I don't understand how it's offensive. it's just a cake topper. it's not like some huge woman in a wedding dress was in the ad. like not being able to put on her garter or soemthing idk. i really don't get how it's so hurtful. it's not that serious.

Politics and Religion are two topics to stear away from when in a crowd...maybe we should add chubby cake toppers to the list.

I want to clarify that I'm not offended by plus size cake toppers. I'm a freakin' plus size girl. I love when I start seeing things that feature more plus sized girls. I would prefer her dress not be ripped across her backside as what message does that send plus size women? If you don't lose weight your dress won't fit on your wedding day. You won't be attractive on your wedding day if you don't lose weight. That's what I'm offended by.

@NIcole; I hope you don't think i was personally attacking you, that wasn't my intent but i see it could come off that way, i just get worked up about those things and perhaps i was wrongly assuming you don't think its an important issue at all; evewn if you do think that, you have a right to your opinion
