Singing while you walk down the aisle

Thecane428, on November 10, 2014 at 8:06 PM Posted in Planning 0 21

Today I had the opportunity of hearing two individuals sing while one of them played the guitar. And as I watched I envisioned walking down the aisle as someone sang. My ceremony will be at a garden infront of a beautiful fountain and with white garden chairs and I can see my fh cousin who has a beautiful voice singing at the front while I walk down.

Is anyone doin this? Has seen this? What are your thoughts? Song suggestions?

That sounds very beautiful... Sounds romantic... As a song choice, maybe a romantic song that definds what you guys have...

I have had a number of couples do this. I like it. If it's a relative it's even more personal.

My stepsister's BIL sang during her walk down the aisle with our Dad. I don't remember what song she walked to, but it was nice.

I went to a wedding where the brides stepmother sang the Beatles' song "In My Life" when she walked down the aisle. It was very nice and a good song choice.

I walked down the aisle to singing. We had friends (a married couple) sing. The husband played guitar and she played fiddle on instrumental breaks. They both sang and harmonized beautifully. They played a Johnny Cash song, which was perfect for our little country wedding. It was magical.

Having someone sing and play an instrument as you walk the aisle is one thing. Having the groom sing to the bride, or vice versa is lovely (as long as they can actually sing), but a bride walking down the aisle singing looks more like a play than a wedding IMO (and that's IF she can actually sing. If she's medoicre, it makes everyone uncomfortable). Sorry to be a wet blanket...

We recently attended a wedding where someone close to the family sang a song at the ceremony. It was really awkward singing/moaning.

The right singer could make it a very beautiful though.

Centerpiece Flowers, I may be misunderstanding but I don't think OP is planning to sing while she walks down the aisle; I think she means she would hire someone to sing the song she is walking to.

You may need a sound system so to be heard over the sound of the fountain (I officiated in front of a waterwall, a large fountain, and a swimming pool with a small waterfall).

I thought about it, but decided to go with a recorded playlist instead. I didnt really know anyone to ask, and didn't want to have a stranger sing.

If you have somebody sing while you walk down the aisle...I recommend that it is timed-out well because you don't want them to just cut off the song when you reach the head of the aisle. We had one bride once sing (herself) while walking down the aisle. She got choked up, and the words were really hard to make out. I would not recommend singing something yourself while walking. Also, has his cousin song in front of people many times...she could get choked up, and have a hard time.

It could be beautiful, or it could go badly....I wish you the best!
