Short brides - show me your dresses!

I'm only 5 feet tall and am worried I will look more like a flower girl than bride lol. Plus i am going wedding dress shopping soon and would love to see what actual people look like not the models!

    I'm 5'3 and wearing this dress with 3 inch heels. The pic isn't me, but I think she has a similar figure.

    Ask how a dress will be altered. Some dresses can have fabric cut off the bottom, some have to be taken up at the waist. If they have to reconstruct beading etc it will cost you more.

    There are plenty of dresses for shorter brides, but I think it's important to ask the alteration questions so you don't blindsided by exhorbitant costs. It's just a consideration taller brides might not have to pay as much attention too.

    Some dresses are just naturally going to be less expensive to alter no matter what your height. Good luck!!

    I am so glad someone posted this thread. Because my coworker had me starting to doubt the style of dress that I want. She kept saying how short I am and how short waisted, etc. Now I am beginning to feel like she's just salty because I won't entertain her offer to "make my dress" (she calls herself a part time seamstress)...Whatever! You ladies all look beautiful.

    I'm going with the one on the left just have to finally make the plunge! I'll be wearing 4 inch heels with it (not in picture) so I can get the medium length one and not have to shorten it at all! I LOVE looking at everyone's dresses - everyone just looks so beautiful. Why can't we just wear these all of the time?!

    Laura, I know but I just love how it makes me feel! And with spending that much on a dress, I sure would like to wear it more than just 12 hours ;0) I told FH that I was going to wear it just around the house when I felt like it (after the wedding of course!).

    @Samantha-I'm 4'10 too.

    I'm thinking about tea-length so it doesn't have to be hemmed as much, but then again I've always dreamt of an A-line or ball gown.

    Everyone looks so beautiful!!!

    I haven't tried dresses on yet, but I doubt I will be wearing heals. I'm 5'3'' and my FH is 5'2''. I seriously don't want to be taller then him so I will be in flats of some sort. Which is perfect for me I cannot stand heals Smiley smile
