September Brides! Let me know what you’re feeling!

Mikayla, on April 1, 2020 at 5:16 PM Posted in California Planning 3 10
Just wanted to ask how my fellow September brides are feeling about this virus. Our wedding date is 9/12/2020. I don’t know if I should feel safe, or concerned, or if I should just call it a day and change the date now. Am I waiting around for the inevitable?! Ahhhh!!! What are your thoughts and plans?

Sincerely, Emotionally confused bride who is keeping her fingers crossed!tenor.gif

My wedding is September 26th and we are still on. Luckily, we already hired all of our vendors before this started happening, so planning isn’t really an issue for us. We are going to look through our contracts and reach out to our venue this weekend just to see what they are doing for other couples that are needing to cancel right now. But I think it’s still too far off to go into full on panic mode right now. Just breathe. ❤️

    Hi Mikayla,

Congrats on your engagement! From what I am hearing, it sounds like we may be closer to "normal" around the time of your wedding. YAY! Even if things do escalate, you have a few months before you have to make a decision! I would recommend touching base with your vendors to see if they are making any suggestions at this time.

I also wanted to share our COVID-19 Weddings Advice Guide with you. You can find some tips/tricks there that I think will help going forward.

    I hope this helps!

    Smiley heart

September 5th bride here. I on the fence with everything. I halted all planning but I have all my vendors in check. My fiance thinks we should postpone to next year

I also spoke to my venue and they suggesteda plan B also...I'm truly battling with that so I'm holding out until end of May. I just cant joyfully plan during this chaos. But I must say I rather have a wedding where everyone can feel comfortable to attend and celebrate than wonder about finances and risk getting sick.

September 19th destination wedding Bride here. I am in complete inner turmoil and don't know what to do. I have paid for a majority of the wedding already, and spend everyday in limbo about what we should do. Cancel? Reschedule? There is no telling what the world will be like in September. I feel your pain and I am here for you if you need to vent.

9/18/20 here and so torn...the whole thing has me so stressed (I'm in NY). Part of me wants to postpone just to end the mental torment but part of me wants to hold on for a little while to see if things improve. Ive started to contact vendors to put a hold a new 9/2021 date so far everyone has been understanding and it is easing my mind to know I have some sort of plan b in motion.

9/17 here! I’m so torn. I already warned my Maids we are leaning towards postponement, it’s a hard call this soon. Things may get better, things may not, if thing get better, I’m not sure how many people will be comfortable in a room with 120 people knowing the height of the pandemic happened 5 months ago. Our grandparents are all high risk and have co-morbidities like diabetes and heart disease, so I’m fearful for them even if things are okay. It’s a really tough decision.

September 26th bride here! We are definitely waiting until closer to time. It does give me anxiety because I worry I am planning for a wedding that is just going to get postponed! We have a majority of vendors booked, and all of our small gifts will more than likely be from Etsy! Our reception flowers are on backorder and won't be in for 6+ weeks, but besides that, everything is getting delivered per usual. Keeping fingers crossed for everything to go back to 'normal'!!!

We decided to postpone until 5/22/2021 from 9/6/2020. We obviously chose to postpone much sooner than most couples but most of our guests are out of town and we were able to get all our same vendors without incurring more cost. I think it is always good to touch base with vendors and family members but overall this decision is up to y'all.

May might not even allow for the big wedding we want but we're giving it a shot and will get married regardless. Good luck!
