Just don't tell anyone ahead of time where it is and if they ask says it a surprise until they get the invites. Still put the location on the invites. otherwise, i don't see the purpose of this, people are going to want to know.

My friend did this. I don't remember exactly what was said but it was along the lines of "reception to follow, information to be provided" and their programs had the reception address and information on them

Why are you doing this? If you haven't booked your venue yet, wait until you do, before you order invitations. If you think it's cute or fun, rethink that idea.

I really wouldn't do this. People may get confused and think the ceremony and reception are at one venue.

This would be very frustrating to me as a guest if I couldnt plan my route for 2 events being held at different places, and would be very worried I would get lost if I was told to suddenly drive someplace I had never been

I've never heard of this. @OP, please let us know why you wouldn't want to disclose the location of your reception? What does "in a warm way" mean? Are you hosting a "reception reveal" event or something? So many questions over here...

Is its like a scavenger hunt to find you reception. I never heard of this. How would it work and would be drive around?

This would stress me out as a guest. I need to know where we will be and at what time. Waiting around to find out where the reception is does not sounds fun. What if as a guest I am only able to attend the reception if it's near the ceremony and find out its farther away than I am able to travel and can no longer attend? I then look like an asshole as a guest like I ditched out on your wedding and had you overpay a guest for food and drinks. Just a thought.
