Save the Date Postcards...envelope or no envelope?

Kimi k., on March 4, 2011 at 4:51 PM Posted in Planning 0 15

THAT is the question.

I know they are designed like postcards, but should I mail them like they are, or put them in an envelope and mail? Postage would cheaper if I sent it as postcards...

Opinions please! Smiley smile

They will definitely be cheaper mailed as postcard, depending on there size if you put them in an envelope the post could be very expensive!

The envelope would have to be an A2 envelope, so just the $.44, but compared to $.28, that makes a difference! Smiley winking

I agree, stick with the no envelope. The money you save in postage can be used towards something else WR... like pretty undies for the big day (or night) Smiley smile

I also think you should stick with no envelopes.

So, like a $20 difference in postage Plus the cost of envelopes.... unless you got white ones with the postcards.... I think they would be fine in the mail as is... up to you if you want to use that money someplace else... that could go toward a flower girl gift or something... oh, Jennifer had a much better idea of where to put that money.... or get a $70 pair of shoes instead of $50!

The two postcard STD's i've received have come in envelopes… not necessarily saying that's the way you need to go. But I do know they're having formal weddings so the envelope spoke to that.

No envelopes! But I did RSVP postcards so I am all about the $0.28 postage.

I vote no envelope...but since you have lots of writing on both sides you might want to ask your postman or the post office if they would deliver them as a postcard - sometimes the post office does really stupid things! Smiley smile

I was just worried about the defined area (or lack thereof) for the address, etc....I guess I could draw a line? Oh heck fire, I don't know! But I'm all for the cheaper postage! My RSVP cards are postcards too!! Save that $.16 baby!!

And def like the idea of pretty panties or a fancier pair of shoes (that I'm STILL in search of!!)

    Thanks ladies! You ROCK!

I love that design... actually used it for some of my stuff too! I just order last night, ha. You could go either way, if you really want to save$ no envelope (we're doing that for the RSVPs but they may get really messed up in the mail and then they wont be as pretty. Just a thought.
