RSVP Postcards

Amanda, on February 9, 2011 at 1:38 AM Posted in Planning 0 18

Ok, so I am getting ready to order our invitations, and I am considering doing an RSVP postcard. I am having the invitations done through a lady on Etsy who does a fabulous job. Our wedding is formal, so I wasn't sure about the postcard, but when she sent me her sample packets of invitation suites, they were beautiful. A little larger than normal, and the back looked like a typical RSVP, but the right side looked like a postcard with the recipient's info on it. And, it would cut the cost of postage by almost 1/2, plus it would be one less envelope to address. The pic I posted is similar to what I would have done but in a black and gold ink. Thoughts would be appreciated!!!

I am planning on doing postcards too! Our wedding isn't super formal though and we have an eco theme going. I think if you're looking for a good way to save some money postcards would be nice. If the postcards still have the more formal design on them I think it would be fine. Which Etsy seller are you going with? I am looking into Etsy for our invites.

Well an RSVP envelope doesn't need to be hand addressed... you can just run those thru the printer since they'll all just have your address on them. Since you're going formal you kind of need to do a traditional RSVP card. The post card option is great, but it kind of takes away from everything else you have going on.

Our wedding is formal & I did postcard RSVPs & LOVED THEM Smiley smile We had pocket style invitations and I just thought it was neat, plus it saved us postage!

It fit perfectly & didn't take away from the formality of the wedding or invitation at all. The postcard looked so pretty and we got SO MANY compliments on our invitations Smiley smile Good luck

I did postcards they were a huge hit! My grandmother was the only crazy one who found and envelope and mailed it back ingorning the stamp that was already on it. They saved money on stamps and paper. I wouldn't have done it any other way.

We think we're going to to RSVP postcards, too. It's a GREAT way to save money (especially on postage), and the picture you posted is gorgeous!

They look great, and not too informal at all. Besides saving money is being financially prudent right now so postcard away!

I love postcards, great way to save money.

    Postcards stamps - $0.28 - (Regular stamps $0.44)

    Size limits:

Minimum: 3-1/2 inches high by 5 inches long by 0.007 inch thick

Maximum: 6 inches long by 4-1/4 inches high

Additional postage required for larger postcards

Your design is very pretty and formal looking. I wouldn't let the fact that it is a postcard bother you. It matches the rest of the invite. Go for it.

I was going to ask about what Hayley brought up. Are they too big (thus not saving you money on the postage)?

    They look beautiful.

Also, the French teacher in me wonders: Do you have the accents over your Répondez s'il vous plaît? If you are going to write it out, you should spell it right.

So, I just found out from the designer on Etsy that she can't take the order for our invitations. So very sad, and panicked at the moment. Not to mention, a huge loss for her, as it was a large order. We were going to give her the invitations, escort cards, table numbers, and menus. I now have 2 weeks to find someone. In regards to the postcards. The sizing will be in the required postal guidelines. And thank you Mary for pointing out that she did not have the accents properly placed. It looks like I now have to find a new design though Smiley sad Thanks for all the comments ladies they were very helpful!

Kelsey R, I love your invitations! Do you mind if I ask where you got them? I'm on the hunt for invites.

    Hi Everyone,

So I found someone else on Etsy to do our invitations who was even better than the last. Her storefront name is Embellished by Tiffany. She does wonderful work and at a very good price. I attached a sample of the invitations, as well as the front and back of the rsvp postcard, we are going with. I'm very happy with the way they turned out. The cardstock is a beautiful pearl, and the damask print on the rsvp postcard is printed in a metallic gold. And I can also get my escort cards, table numbers, programs, menus, anything like that thru her as well to coordinate. Luckly, everything turned out ok in the end Smiley smile

Thanks Denny, but I've been married for a little over a year now. I went with a lady from Etsy for all my stationary for the wedding and she did a fabulous job... Embellished by Tiffany. Couldn't have been happier!
