I am considering buying a replica Mori Lee dress on Amazon, because I can't justify spending $1500+ on a dress I will wear only once. I am considering buying a replica Mori Lee dress on Amazon, because I can't justify spending $1500+ on a dress I will wear only once. The Amazon dress has a few 5 star reviews on the exact dress I'm wanting, pictures included, and they look pretty good to me. The seller has great reviews overall on almost all of their other dresses too, but I am still worried. Have any of you bought a replica dress on Amazon? Who was the seller? If you have pictures, please post them (extra points for posting a pic of the original designer dress also for comparison).

This is the dress I'm wanting replicated!

Just a suggestion, Etsy has some BEAUTIFUL wedding dresses that aren't "replica." I personally have ordered a dress online (ebay) and definitely ended up going to the store and ended up with something completely different. Even if you purchase online I'd highly advise going to try dresses on first to find the perfect style for you!

Be careful ordering from amazon-3rd parties through Amazon can pay to have certain reviews removed if they are not favorable. Also, be wary of photoshopped pictures. It is so easy now to change photos and take original dress photos and add them to fake reviews.

@Katie - I see your wedding is in November. Are you considering selling your dress after your wedding?

OP: "Has anyone tried breaking into a bridal boutique and just taking a dress? I fell in love with one I tried on but I can't justify buying it."

WeddingWire: "Umm, no. Don't do that. Stealing is wrong. Plus it's highly likely to turn out poorly for you."

OP: "That's not what I wanted to hear. I'm going to be ignoring everyone who hasn't stolen their dress."

@Lauren, I got it from Dressilyme.com. At the time I had no idea it was a Maggie Sottero Zalia knockoff, but after I posted pics here some of the ladies here enlightened me. Then later when I went back on their site, I saw that it is being blocked due to a lawsuit by a famous designer.

ETA: I forgot to add the pic. I also forgot to say that not only was it too itchy to wear, it is over a size too small, and I gave them my exact measurements. If you see below, you will see their shitty policy regarding sizing and exchanges, which I didnt see before I ordered, of course. Also, apparently, Ada's Bridal is the same company, as they are the ones that made my dress.

    Sizing or Fitting Issues

Before ordering a dress, please kindly make sure to give us the exact size measurement. The finished gown may vary by approximately one inch in either direction of the specified measurements. For the dispute on size deviation, please take some photographs of the merchandise by laying it on the ground and place a tape ruler to measure out the problem. You shall submit the photographs to ***********@**********.*** and we'll have the designated personnel to take the dispute and offer a reply within 24 hours.

Dress is not the size you ordered

If the dress's size differs from the specifications you ordered by more than one inch, we cordially encourage you to find a local tailor to make adjustments. All of our dresses (except ready-to-ship dresses) are newly tailored by our dressmakers. There may be the little size error within one inch for the handwork. Please kindly forgive.

Dress is the custom size you ordered but does not fit

Considering the uniqueness of the product in the event of Custom Made, dresses following the specifications you ordered cannot be returned or exchanged. But we attach an fabric in the seams of your dress, you can make minor adjustments at a local tailor of which we won't cover the cost. Please note: if your order specifications differ too much from the final sizing request, resizing may not be possible.

I agree with the ethics behind a replica dress. Look at places that sell used dresses or an outlet store. I understand the budget consciousness of your decision but morally I disagree with someone taking another designer's gown and duplicating it.

Look at preowned dresses and put out an ISO on facebook wedding pages and the newspaper and what not. You might be surprised what ends up in your lap! What is your current budget for your dress? Is it even feasible?

OOH, I just remembered that I saw something similar on the WW Bride 2 Bride site on Facebook. Lots and lots of women are re-selling their dresses on that site, in fact I got a $3000 Allure gown there for $300 and it was brand with and still had tags on. I am almost positive I saw something similar to the one you want for sale there. There is also a wedding resale on FB called something like Cheap or Free Wedding, check that out too. Good Luck. Also, apparently OfferUp has lots of dresses.

If that's the dress you want and you can afford it (you said you could but just didn't want to) just buy the real dress. It is immoral to buy a knockoff or replica of a designer's work, period.

Lauren, I think getting the real dress previously worn is your best bet. Otherwise check out Davids Bridal or see what off the rack dresses are available in your size at local shops. You might find something you love even more.

The dress is pretty, but you don't want to experience trying on dresses? There are budget friendly dresses or you can rent wedding dresses too Smiley smile maybe you can find a white formal dress, that are $30. Because of homecoming season and prom. Of course amazon might have a return policy. I hope it turns out beautiful Smiley smile

Like nearly everyone else, I encourage you to not go the knock-off route. Rebecca Ingram is a Maggie Sottero brand, and most dresses are around the $1k mark. You can see if any stores will sell you their samples or just buy new and resell.

This first dress is very similar to the one you like at $839: https://www.maggiesottero.com/rebecca-ingram/grace/10523

And depending on your size, someone is selling it for $520 here: https://www.stillwhite.com/64709-rebecca-ingram

And this has a similar silhouette at $1039: https://www.maggiesottero.com/rebecca-ingram/cynthia/10517
