I am considering buying a replica Mori Lee dress on Amazon, because I can't justify spending $1500+ on a dress I will wear only once. I am considering buying a replica Mori Lee dress on Amazon, because I can't justify spending $1500+ on a dress I will wear only once. The Amazon dress has a few 5 star reviews on the exact dress I'm wanting, pictures included, and they look pretty good to me. The seller has great reviews overall on almost all of their other dresses too, but I am still worried. Have any of you bought a replica dress on Amazon? Who was the seller? If you have pictures, please post them (extra points for posting a pic of the original designer dress also for comparison).

This is the dress I'm wanting replicated!

Paige; it's a nice dress, but it looks nothing like the seller's picture.

Of course, respond to the only user supporting your idea. Not the valid links I've been posting.

    Pop quiz:

Which dress is the original and which is the knockoff?

@StarfromHJ - Lauren isn' actually looking for advice or to hear any other side than hers. She's gonna do what she's gonna do whether its ethical or smart. I honestly do hope we don't see her back here in four months panicking about her dress

    (hint: its neither.)

Munchkin, I know. However maybe someone else sees this thread and reads the threads on why its a bad idea!

I'm responding to the only person answering my question. Did I ask "is buying a replica a good idea? Why or why not?" No. I didn't. So I've chosen not to engage with people who have only come on my post to grandstand.

Horrible idea to get a knock off dress. There are plenty of gorgeous white dresses you can get for cheap, why risk getting garbage?

@lauren - No one is grandstanding. Again it is an open forum and everyone and anyone is open to posting within a thread how they would like, so long as it isn't violating all the CGs.

Again I have to ask - Have you exhausted all your options for finding a similar dress that isn't a knockoff? Have you considered the limited amount of time you have to get a dress and what might happen if you aren't apart of the very tiny percentage who's knockoff is wearable? You have so many options available that aren't going to cause you a panick attack later down the line. No one is grandstanding, only trying to give you open honest advice that this may be a bad idea.

And as Jo asked earlier - Why would you try on a dress out of your budget?

I thought your last comment was "the last reply to anyone who isn't actually answering my question".

    Yet here you are.

It's not out of my budget, I just can't justify spending it if there's a more affordable option.

I wouldn't buy a replica dress.. especially from online.

I would take this pic as inspo for when you go try on dresses in the store. Say this is a style you like, and your budget is xx.

There are about a million more affordable options. You just don't want to consider them.

So did you go visit other bridal shops and ask to see similar styles? Did you look at a local bridal consigment store and not just a website?

You don't have to resort to purchasing a cheaply made knock off. And RE: my first comment - Have you even thought that those photos posted form amazon could have been lifted off other websites and not accurately represent the product?

It just seems to risky to me and you are already at a very precarious time with being at the tale end of time to order a dress without definitely having to pay rush fees or purchase a sample. Most places will tell you it takes 6-8 months to order a dress. You're cutting it so close to take such a big risk
