What's your take? Is a wedding registry necessary or not??

It isn't necessary but my FH and I do have one made because people will buy gifts, it's just a fact and we need house stuff for our house we just bought so it is a way to add stuff that we need to a list for people to look at and get ideas of what we need. If they're gonna buy us something, I would rather it be something we need although we would be happy with what ever. We would be happy with no presents but just the presence of our loved ones. โค๏ธ

I think so! It helps not to receive double or something. If Iโ€™m a guest at a wedding or bridal shower, I like to give actual gifts rather than a gift card or money. Plus, they are fun to make!

Necessary--some guests really want it. But we made ours really small--we mostly want people to just contribute to our honeymoon (we have a honeymoon fund on the registry)

I think it's nice to have a registry to ensure that gifts are things actually needed or wanted but I don't see anything wrong with gifting cash if that's what the couple wants.

I think this is very necessary. My fiance and I are doing a honeyfund, so our guest can help pay for our honeymoon.

I like giving guests a guide. I'm telling them gifts aren't needed (although there are definitely some things that we'll need), but many want to give something and also want to know what you really need, so I'm trying to put only things we know we'll use on our registry.

Not necessary, I already feel bad asking anyone for anything so, to ask them for wedding presents when we aren't going to invite everyone it wrong to me.

I think registries are necessary or else you will receive a crap ton of random gifts you have no use for. Many people do not give cash gifts at all so don't rely on that.

We are for sure doing one! People are going to buy gifts anyways might as well tell them what we want!

Not necessary. We're moving overseas soon after the wedding and can't afford much shipping and most of our guests are traveling to our wedding (we're from 2 different countries, and don't live near either family) , so I just put on our website "we understand that many of our guests are making considerable effort by traveling to our wedding, and your presence is a gift in itself. Because we will be moving back to the states soon after our wedding, if you would like to give a gift we kindly ask for gift cards or cash gifts"

Necessary. If you don't have at least a small one, there are some guests who will get you a physical gift either way and it will be something you don't want/won't use. Good luck figuring out how to return it!
