Postponed our March Wedding to August, i think

Sindone, on March 31, 2020 at 12:04 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 6
We were originally supposed to get married on March 21st, and on March 13th we got the awful news that we couldn’t do so because of COVID-19. Everything is paid in full. Our vendors have been very understanding, and we have full credits with each to use on a future date within one year of our original wedding date.
Well, last week our venue called and said that we could discuss some new date options from their current availability. After soft-holding a couple dates, we decided on August 9th. Honestly I’m just a little nervous about moving forward with the rest of our vendors so quickly since nobody really knows how all this is going to pan out...March brides, how far did you push back your wedding date? August brides, are you considering postponing or is it business as usual?

I'm August 22. We're not canceling so far. Well either way we will be getting married on our date. Worst case scenario we reschedule the reception...but that's no big deal. It's a party. We can party anytime. The important part for us is the marriage so even if it's just us and our officiant and 2 witnesses...it's happening.

Business as usual for my August 2nd wedding 😊 of course anything is possible and the anxiety is there, but I think we’ll be fine. Worst case scenario it’s smaller than planned because people still might not want to be in big groups

Business as usual for our August 8th wedding. I am anxious about it, though.

    Hi Sindone,

I'm sorry you're having to think about postponing your August wedding on top of planning your big day. While this is definitely an uncertain time, it seems like some August couples are waiting to make postponement decisions. Of course, everyone's situation is different, so it never hurts to be proactive about plan B! Reaching out to your venue to determine options may be the most helpful first step.
