Postpone Wedding

Alicia, on March 30, 2020 at 1:01 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 10

My wedding is June 13th 2020 should i be thinking of a plan B option ? So far i've decided to cancel my Bridal Shower on April 25th and choose a later date for the end of May.

You might be ok but then again i guess we can never be too sure. if it makes you feel more assured to have a plan b, i think it's ok to ask your vendors and venues or look back in your contract to see what would happen in the event of a needed postponement or cancellation

Hi Melle, i've already contacted all my venues & vendors 3 weeks ago about possibly changing dates. They are on board if i do need to change dates and that they will hold my deposits if we do decide to postpone the wedding. I'm just trying to figure out what our next step is because my fiance is in the National Guard and it's very hard to plan something like this around his schedule. I'm trying to not panic yet but i would like to have a plan b if something does change in the next few weeks/month

    Hey girl,

I am getting married June 20th. Today I started making a plan B. Though the news today seems more promising then it was two weeks ago it makes me feel better making a plan B instead of worrying so much. It definitely doesn’t hurt to make a plan for if in case.

Yeah, that's what i'm trying to figure out. We already have 5 weddings this year and i'm trying to plan everything out accordingly. I still want to have a bridal shower my bachelorette party with my girls and have a fun time at my wedding. I would hate if i had to skip everything and just get married at the court house.

I am getting married June 13th also! I agree with everyone else, I have not moved anything yet just reaching out to my venue for back up dates. I did postpone my shower (twice now lol) until May. I am hoping we can go forward with our date, the only thing i am afraid of is if people will feel comfortable being in large groups by june. Best of luck to you!

Yeah I hear ya on that. I'm not making any changes unless something happens by the end of April beginning of May. We still haven't sent out our wedding invites yet. We are planning on moving our shower date sometime in May. I'm trying to not panic yet lol panicking doesn't help solve anything so I'm trying to stay calm through all of this.

Depending where you are located--yes I would unfortunately change your date now. Virginia just issued a stay at home order through June 10, and it looks like Maryland and DC are going to do the same. I'm so sorry Smiley sad

Oh wow that's scary I'm sorry that's happening ! Were in Ohio and the president issued the distancing till April 30th so I guess will see what Mike DeWine has to say at his next press conference about what Ohio is doing.

Hi Alicia! It's definitely a crazy time of stress and uncertainty for everyone! So it sounds like most couples are waiting a few more weeks before making any final decisions about their June Weddings, but being proactive about plan b might give you more peace of mind! Smiley heart
