Bridal Letter

First we’d like to thank you all for your love and support. It’s because of this that, Vinny and I, are where we are at in our life and relationship. You all are very special to us and we feel truly blessed that you will be part of our special day. We can not believe how fast the time has gone. So much to do in such little time.Thank You!

Colors of the Day

The colors we decided on going with will be Purple, Gold, & Ivory. We decided we wanted the theme of simple/modern elegance.

    Dresses

All I ask is that you go to David’s Bridal. I know, I really wish that wasn’t the store, but due to new circumstance (Lauren being Pregnant, CONGRATS, she is due in February) and some others with financial issues, this is the best decision. You will have to place your order in no later than October 31st. You do not to have to it altered there. Find a close seamstress that will definitely do it for a lot less. I was going with having you all decide on different dresses, but the more I look around, I’d rather the same dress on each. If you have issues about the dress, please contact me.I also want you girls to get a shawl to match the dress.

Satin Strapless Ball Gown with Sweetheart Neckline Style 84066

    Color: Regency (purple color

For those who have Tattoos that are noticeable with a strapless dress please get a jacket, shawl, or cover-up for it. I do not want to see any tattoos that are big on the back or chest. I’m sorry, but it bugs me.

If any , questions please call me.

    Shoes

I would really like the same shoes. So I decided I will find the shoes, and email you all where to get them. I will be looking for gold 3 inch heels. So if anyone sees’s any, with a matching great price, please let me know.

    Hair

There are salons around the area, or if you want me to have someone come in, let me know your price point. I will get some quotes from stylist I know and will fill you all in.

    Make-Up

I want all makeup to be neutral colors or a dark purple. Also if you’d like you make up done. The woman who is doing mine will charge $35 for each girl. Please let me know in advance, if you’d like to have your makeup done

    Nails

I want neutral color nails or French. Please don’t have dark color nail polish on hands or feet.

    Groomsmen:

    Tuxedo

You will be getting them from Men’s Warehouse. We have yet to decide on a tux. We will inform you as soon as we do. For those who are not flying in and have a Men’s Warehouse close to you, you can pick your Tux up two days before the wedding, which is March 29th ( PLEASE DON’T FORGET THEM). If you are flying in, you can go to a near by location and get fitted and have it sent to Men’s Warehouse in Middletown, NY.

    What we do know is:

    Shirt: Black

Vest/Tie: Regency Color from David’s Bridal Edition

    Rehearsal Dinner

We have yet to decide a location, but it will be up here in Milford, PA on Friday March 30th at 6PM.

    The Wedding After Party:

At the Best Western, there is a bar, for those still wanting to party into the night. Just remember the bars in PA close at 2AM. If it gets to crowded in the bar, the hotel said we can use the room next to it to hang out as well.

    Travel Information

By now you all should have received your Save the Dates. I’d like to advise you to make sure you book your rooms. You have two hotel options, The Best Western Inn at Hunt’s Landing ( which is our Venue, and where we are staying) and The Hampton Inn right across from the Venue.

    Partners:

    Tara D. with Tim A.

    Katie H. with Tommy R.

    Dina S. with Keith S.

    Lucille C. with Billy C.

    Nicole I. with Billy H.

    Lauren S. with Michael Connelly

Christina I think its great that you are giving them all the info up front I did the same thing it makes it easier and everyone is on the same page... Its unclear to me if you are requiring them to get their hair done by someone or if they have the option to do it themselves. And if you are requiring them to have certain things done certain ways i.e. hair and nails that really should be something that you pay for. Also are you asking the girls with tattoos to stay covered all night or just thru the formal pictures.. IMO if you asked them to be in your wedding knowing that had tattoos you shouldn't expect them to cover up all night. I can see you asking them to do so for formals but after that you kinda have to let go. I'd also send a picture of the dress and the price to the girls so that they know what they are getting into financially. Good luck with your planning..

The hair and make up information are helpful. The travel info and wedding after party is good. You could just simply state where to get the dress and style...most people are not going to question you on it. The shoes.....they may not be comfy for everyone....just keep that in mind.

I might take out the part about Lauren being prego or people with financial issues, it's a guilt trip without meaning to be. Just leave it something along the lines of

"All I ask is that you go to David’s Bridal. I know, I really wish that wasn’t the store, but due to all of the different body types and wanting to keep costs reasonable for everyone, this is the best decision. Please place your order in no later than October 31st.

This sentence was mistyped: "You do not have to have it altered there." Find a close seamstress that will definitely do it for a lot less. I was going with having you all decide on different dresses, but the more I look around, I’d rather the same dress on each. If you have issues about the dress, please contact me.I also want you girls to get a shawl to match the dress.

Also, why don't you get the shawls for them, that way you know they all match?

OK just now getting to the rest:

Shoes: 3 inch heels? Girl you'd have to give me walking lessons!! How uncomfortable, unless they all wear them on a daily. Something between 1- 2 inches would be a lot more reasonable for that long a period of time....

The Wedding Afterparty: TYPO : "If it gets TOO crowded..."

Just a thought... they're paying to travel there and get hotels and all that jazz, have you thought about footing the bill for a MUA for all of them to just get it done? That way you do have a little more control.... and they don't have to worry about that on top of eveyrthing else...

Honestly, I know you are trying to be helpful and I think putting your desires down in writing for everyone to understand is great. Unfortuntely, I think you are going to cause hurt feelings on some of your points.

Insisting that everyone get the same shoe isn't always the wisest decision. Everyone's feet are different and what might fit someone perfectly might be very uncomfortable for someone else. Also, to require people to cover their tattoos - especially if they are large - can be quite costly. You knew when asking these folks that they had the tats. Either you need to supply a make up artist to handle covering the tats or you need to accept the fact that they have them.

Finally, I think you should try to be a bit more lenient on the makeup and nail polish but if this is what you insist, as mentioned above, you should pay for them.

Good luck! I don't know your bridal party but my guess is not everyone will be so accepting of your terms.

I think most of it is fine. However, as someone with a tattoo it bugs me that you say that tattoos showing bugs you. If I were in a friend's wedding and she told me to cover up my tat that way as opposed to just saying she would prefer they not show during the ceremony and formal pictures I would not be happy. Don't get me wrong, it's your wedding and that's fine. I would have no issue covering up. But you could ask in a nicer way! Smiley smile I would also just tell them that they are getting their dresses at DB and leave it at that. Don't mention that you don't like it, why you are having them go there.......you can discuss that with them later if you (and/or they) feel like venting over their crappy service.

@Mrs S To B: Thank you for all you help.

@Lala: You are totally correct. I was just wrong for saying it in that way. Thank you for making me realize that.

Due to budget I can not afford to pay for anything for the bridesmaids. But they all knew about the expense before they decided. I dont ask much of them at all. Actually nothing. Not even help, just show up. Due to all my friends and FSILs everyone has a very different personality. This was the only way to keep it in order for my sake.

I think you did a nice job changing the David's Dress section. After you give this information to all the girls, I would just go over it with them individually to make sure they actually do understand. I know how people are sometimes and they just put paperwork down and it gets lost.

You mentioned you want the shoes the same color, which is fine. In the tattoo section you said the girls could wear a shaw or jacket to cover up the tattoos. If you want the shoes almost the same, will one girl wearing a jacket seem off to you in pictures? I just don't want you seeing the difference the day of and then wishing they wore something differently or just used cover-up instead.
