We are planning everything ourselves and our vendors will execute everything the day of.

I'm doing pretty much all of it myself, with occasionally asking my mom or fiancé for their opinion on important stuff

Hilarious mime and so on point!! We planned our own as well. One of the best advice I got from my husband’s aunt was to make a detailed day of timeline - like very detailed. That’s how the professional wedding planners do it. Include what time the linens will be placed on the tables, flowers will arrive, cake delivered, etc. I had a column of the time, responsibility of which vendor/friend/relative, their phone number. The final timeline was sent to all vendors. It helped because day of, if a vendor was locked out and needed to know who to call or if the florist needed to know when the cake arrives to put flowers on it, etc. they all had the plan/time/contact info (and not call the bride 😉). This was a game changer for us!! Hope this helps ❤️❤️❤️

I'm planning everything myself too. I've had my moments where I want to cancel or the prices overwhelm me...but then I get over myself. Look at myself in my wedding dress and then I'm motivated. Good luck and congratulations!

Most brides DO plan their own weddings, despite what movies lead us to believe. I planned my last one, I'm planning this one. It's really not that bad when you can look online and read reviews... it makes it easy to narrow down vendor options.


The venue does provide a DOC, so they'll handle everything that day and I'll relax and enjoy... hopefully!

Hi ! We did all ourselves, and on The Day my frieds helped us a lot. If I hired a wedding planner, it should have been a bilingual person, rather hard to find, so... We found our venue where they had a coordinator, and then other vendors did they job on colaborating together. We made our decorations (except flowers), menus, seating plan, we prepared the room with our friends... It's really doable !

Lmao I'm planning my own wedding too. Less than 2 months and I'm pretty much done. Start early and be meticulous!!!

I have planned mine on my own, as well. A wedding planner just wasn't in the budget, so my MOH and I have been planning things. My biggest piece of advice is to plan as early as possible. Get everything booked and planned WAY before the big day, that way when the week of comes, there is nothing that needs to be done but the small things to do (pay vendors, etc.) and you won't have to stress about anything!
