Is anyone else planning when they want to have a baby? How long are you wanting to wait after the wedding? How many kids do you guys want? I thought I wanted to wait an entire year before even trying... but now I don't think I can!!!!!!!!!! I wanted to wait because I know that once we have a baby...

Is anyone else planning when they want to have a baby?

How long are you wanting to wait after the wedding?

How many kids do you guys want?

I thought I wanted to wait an entire year before even trying... but now I don't think I can!!!!!!!!!!

I wanted to wait because I know that once we have a baby it'll be harder to have alone time and just enjoy our marriage... I figure... a baby is forever, best to wait a year and just enjoy the company of each other, right?

I'm not so sure now... I REALLY want a baby. I've always dreamed of being a mother...

Ladies being a parent is for the rest of your life not just for 18 or 20 years. Enjoy at least a year of alone time with you DS you will be glad you did once the children come.

Good point Kathy, that what I was trying to say about being financially sound and ready before having children.

My mom's parents had her when they were in early 30s and they are now 80 and 81, wow they are like young souls :-) So full of life and very active in life.

Btw Your biological clocks are nowhere near ticking in yours 20's, early 30's. Very personal story but I got pregnant at 43 (one timewith no condom) we weren't trying. My health at the time and the heart meds I was on meant we had to make a decision for both our sakes. No judgments please, just making a point that you are still fertile until your 40s.

Aww sharon, thank for sharing and yes you are correct about being fertile in 40s :-) Look at Kelly Preston, she is pregnant at age 47 and I am so happy for her!

    Hugs, Sharon.

And you are right. Women can have children far past their 20's. Heck, look at the few women in their 60's who have given birth...not that I would want to go there (not that I can as I had a hysterectomy a few years ago...and in my 40's that was a very welcomed thing...no periods? No desire for more children...I already had the perfect one. Are you kidding! YES! Take it out! LOL!)

Truly, wait, in my opinion. And again, that is JMHO. Please do not ream me for it. ;-)

Megan Maria, happy to hear that your grandparents are so young at heart. It is sooo important to think young.

I remember, when I was a kid, people who were 30 were OLD! That was because they were told that they were supposed to be a certain way.

Now, we know that we can be what we want to be. If we think young, we will be seem far younger than others who want to "act their age."

I am 51.....I normally feel as if I am 32. That was a good age for me, and I simply seem to feel that way. My mother is 88, she will be 89 in October. She was married to my father for 47 years. About 8 years after his death, she met a man who now lives with her (not that I like it as he is sucking her bank accounts dry), but he is 59 and she keeps up with him.

Age is truly in the head....think old=be old. Think young=be young.

Sharon, I hear you. I never found myself in that position, but I feel that I would have made the choice that you did.

    You are a strong woman.

I want to try right away after we get married. We want for sure maybe one more. Possibly a third but that wouldn't be for a very long time.

We're not waiting long at all..I want a April-May born baby, and I don't want to wait a whole year after the wedding, and neither does FS..and I do NOT do good with summer, so me pregnant in the summer would just be a total disasterr..soo yeah. I'm still researching on the whole subject..but we tried once(a couple days ago) and I stopped taking my pill a few days ago before we tried, but we're not sure if it worked or not..hopefully it did. Hugs Sharon.

I think the media paints a scary picture, that if you wait until your 30's to have a baby that you double the chance of things going wrong, and not to mention the scare of infertility. I know better than to fall for that. And it seems you either choose a baby or a career, and it doesn't have to be that way.

Tonia - it usually takes a few months to get the hormones out of your system, however, when I got pregnant with Sara I stopped the pill thinking it would take a while, 3 weeks and I was pregnant !

Oh my gosh yes, media makes it sound so bad to have babies later. I am really considering to wait until early 30s to have kids. Ohhh me and him travel, have a lot of sex and just enjoy ourselves. I like the sound of it. Children are so much work and money. I mean like I told kathy that my grandparents didn't have my mom until early 30s and they are awesome! They don't even act old and they even have sex twice a week lol.

My cycle is irregular, so the health department here said if I ever wanted a kid, stop taking the pill right before your last week and try, cause that's when I'm ovulating, because the pill regulates my cycle.

We're hoping.(: If not, I'll just stop taking the pills all together and set up an appointment with the Heath Department and talk with them..

@Tonia- I don't understand why you are still taking the pill if you are trying to get pregnant now.
