If they had a legitimate reason, I don't see the problem. People get sick, have emergencies.

It happens. I had 10 people back out 2 days before the wedding and 4 people come unexpectedly. Don't let it get to you and enjoy your wedding day!

It truly sucks but unfortunately there's nothing you can do about it. They may have had a legitimate reason (or maybe not). Try and look ahead and be happy your wedding is almost here!

First off...breathe. Unfortunately life happens and you don't have any control over it. Remember your day is going to go on with or without them. Try not to stress on these last minute hiccups, they will happen but I promise your day will be amazing.

It sucks, but who knows, maybe it'll be for the good.

I had a couple cancel about a week before because the husband's father passed away and so they were going back east for the funeral. Which is 100% understandable. The blessing in disguise was one of my really really close friends who had RSVP'd no because he had to work late that night, called and asked the day before if there was a way he could come. (ETA: his shift had changed, or something?) So, that it ended up working out!

I'm really sorry, but don't let this get you down!

I had people cancel as well, most with legitimate reasons. I also had 5 people not show the day of. So that was fun. Nothing you can do unfortunately .

We recently went to a wedding where this happened except it was more like 15 people cancelled. They made the best of it and we all had a great time.

That definitely sucks, did they have legit reasons?

If you can't get out of their plate cost - maybe see if you can opt to give their meals to a vendor instead of paying for the vendor meal?

In the week before the wedding, we had about 12 people change their RSVP to no. "I couldn't get off work" seemed to be the popular reason. At the wedding, we ended up with two completely empty tables. And then, we had a couple that had RSVPed yes (and constantly reassured us they were coming) and then they didn't even bother to show up at all. No explanation or anything. Found out thru social media that they were simply hanging out at a mutual friends house that day. Pisses me off still. People suck. I'm sorry.

As much as it sucks, they did give you notice. This close, most people just don't show up and not say anything. Enjoy your day.

Try to call and see if you can adjust your headcount. We have to give an absolute final 3 days before.

I agree... at least they told you! Most weddings will have people who simply do not show up.
