PARENT GIFTS ON WEDDING DAY!?

Samantha, on January 13, 2014 at 11:41 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 14

Hey everyone I am stumped on what to get my parents and fiancé parents as a little gift on the wedding day?! Any thoughts on cute little gifts to get them. Nothing huge but something small to say thank you and love you kind of thing! Ahhh I don't know haha

I'm giving them gifts of our wedding album but they won't be ready until months after the wedding day.

Maybe peal studs for the Mom's and a nice bottle of wine or something for the dads?

I was unaware of this "parent gift". My parents wont be getting anything. I paid for my own wedding, so I am expecting a gift from them. lol.

How much are you trying t spend??

I went to THINGS REMEMBERD and they had a sale where if you buy a piece of jewlrey you get a mini jewlrey box for free..

So I got 2 engraved jewlrey boxes and two very nice bracelets for 50.00 (4 people done!)

We gave these to them at our rehearsal lunch the day before our wedding. Cost us about $30 to make and they are super sentimental -- platters with a short note from each of us thanking them for everything in our lives in general.

I'm getting my parents a nice photo frame and putting a picture in it from the day I was adopted. I hadn't really thought about getting FH's parents' anything, I think he was planning on doing that.

FH and I are also paying for our own wedding but I will be getting my mom and his pairents a gift. I'm getting his mom personalized necklace from etsy with a hanky and a glass box to put them in. My mom will get a hanky and undecided on what else, I may do a small necklace? His dad a nice bottle of wine.

We got each parent personalized hankerchiefs that had the wedding date on it and then their title i.e. Father of the Bride, Mother of the Groom, etc. Three of the 4 parents are criers, so we thought it would be a good gift. Also got my dad some cigars, didn't for my FIL since he doesn't smoke.

I'm getting my mother a silver keepsake box. And when my wedding pictures come in I want to place the one that is her favorite in the front cover.

Both sets have asked that we don't get them anything. I'll probably make them albums after the wedding but nothing expensive. Truthfully I find things that say "thank you for raising the man of my dreams" etc a little over the top. If I gave something like that to FMIL she would probably look at me blankly and say something along the lines of "Did you get that off a hallmark card"

I'm not sure about my parents yet but I'm thinking about getting this for FH's parents. I think FMIL would really like it (the link). I'm also planning on crocheting a hankie for her (I also made one for my grandmother). Here is the outer edge I'm making and I'll attach it to an irish linen hankie.

I made personalized platters as well. They were the same for both of our parents, I just changed the order of our names.

Going to be giving them parent wedding albums but won't be in for a few months.

Haven't thought about what to give his parents as a "thank you" for day of. I figure I'll leave that to him as he knows what he likes best. And I'm kind of stumped because they didn't contribute anything to the wedding so I'm not sure what to even give them.

For my mother I will probably give her a really nice personalized picture frame with maybe some sort of quote on it. I would do a special piece of jewlery but it might not get worn much. The frame she would see everyday. Also a personalized handkerchief because I know she will be crying a lot the day of the wedding. For my step father I am unsure what to get him as a small thank you.
