Outstanding RSVPs. How did you handle it?

Piecesofadream, on May 12, 2014 at 9:10 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 9

We have passed the deadline and have 11 outstanding RSVPs.

How did any of you ladies handle this?

If you've attempted to follow up and still no word, did you count them as no?

If you did online RSVP, did you hide or delete the RSVP page?

My FH wants to give these people FOREVER to respond. I have place cards to make and seating charts to submit, I'm not giving these people another week!

I called/messaged/texted, etc. I just tracked people down until I had a final answer. All of them gave me a final answer eventually, and it was typically a "no." We were glad to have some no's, haha!

11 outstanding RSVP's isn't bad AT ALL, and we had around that number also, so it was easily managed.

I'd give them a couple days more, max. I'd maybe contact the non-responders again with a definite deadline.

They were all close friends so I sent them each a text with a reminder to RSVP. Most of them RSVP'd right then. But I did have a few that needed to wait, but they gave me an explanation, like they were attepting to figure out travel plans as they lived across the country. Those that couldn't RSVP the first time got back to me within the week. We did have one group (FH's Aunt and Uncle) that refused to get back to us. We had to call/text them once a week with a reminder for 3 1/2 WEEKS before they gave us an answer(almost two months after the deadline). We eventually had to give them the old, "If we don't hear from you by Friday we will assume you cannot make it. That is the absolute final deadline for my venue." That time it finally worked. haha. It was difficult for us because a lot of people didn't want to RSVP that early, but that was the deadline our venue set.

I have 9 outstanding RSVP's, but a week and a half till the deadline. I'm hoping they mail them. If not, FH and I are going to call/text them. Most of them are his friends so I'll probably just make him do it! haha

I got in touch with 2, so we're down to 9! I'll check the mail tonight and see where we are.

I'm with you @JuneBride, of the 9 remaining 7 are FH's so he better hop to it!

My FH is the same way! Our deadline passed on Saturday and we have 28 outstanding RSVPs! My mother in law seemed shocked that the RSVP date wasn't the Tuesday before the wedding....bahahaha

My FMIL is handling FH's missing RSVPs, and I kindly called/texted/FB messaged anyone on my portion of the guest list.

I just need these numbers to finalize my last big to-do's!

All of our outstanding RSVPs were from my fiances family so I made him harass them. We still have several not calling him back so I'm just assuming they won't come but preparing as if they were so we have enough food and drinks if they decide to show up
