Outside ceremony/inside signing how much music

marie, on August 21, 2019 at 12:24 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 4

Hi So we are having an outside ceremony however the venue we are doing this at we have to go inside to sign for legality. We then come back outside and they will announce us as man and wife.

We haven't had a meeting with the registrar yer and I am sure this will provide some more insight but wondered if anyone else has had this or witnessed it at a wedding. I don't know if its best to have drinks served whilst we sign so guests aren't bored, how much music I should arrange if they are going to be sat there and we have to go all the way inside sign, do photos signing and come back out.

any insight would be appreciated.

Many couples will sign their certificates and get pictures done during the cocktail hour.

Can you sign either immediately before the wedding or immediately after? I know that at my first wedding, we signed the ketubah (formal Jewish marriage contract) right before the ceremony. The rabbi told us that we are in fact married under Jewish law (and thus under civil law) at that point, but we still had the ceremony.

    Hey there Marie!

What a great idea from the previous poster! Would you consider signing immediately before the ceremony to avoid guests having to sit and wait?

If you and your FS don’t want to see each other before the ceremony, doing this during the cocktail hour is another great alternative!

Speak with your registrar and see how you can fit this in to the day!

When will you be having your meeting with him/her?

I have still to book the meeting but i think I will get it in sooner rather than later so i can get an idea of logistics. I think cocktail hour is the best idea allows time for the photographs then. and keeps the guests occupied and i still get the first look photos too. Thanks for all the advice!
