Haha - i agree, bottles are better. idk where you live, but sometimes distributers sell "loose bottles" cheaper

I would go w/ bottles if $$ was no object. Considering your financial situation, I would go the cheapest route, probably cans (or kegs).

I am a beer drinker and prefer bottles. However, it is way less expensive to have kegs or cans.

Depends on your guests and budget, I personally HATE cans..lol..but as a beer drinker, if it's the only option I will drink it. Smiley winking

In Austin, kegs go from $100-$150, both domestic and imports.

We had a keg and I don't believe it was super expensive (though I don't know exactly how much we paid). We just got it from a little grocery store that was near our reception. Though I'm not the biggest fan of draft or Bud Light, it worked and of course I didn't complain.

Youve got to be careful with kegs, a lot of people get upset stomachs from kegs, you also have the tappers and stuff you have to do and something to keep it all cold. With the cans just get a couple things of disposable cups and have the bartender pour them in there so there are no cans in the picture. I do not like cans, they remind me of a redneck wedding lol.

I dont know that I would do guiness, thats more of an acquired taste, weve been selling a lot of kraftig at work, you could also do a pumpkin or a wheat beer since youre doing fall themed, Blue Moon sells like crazy add and orange and people love it.

Also a lot of people do corona with lime. You could likely go to a bar and ask them, sounds silly but they would know what moves the fastest in your area.

We're doing kegs for price and convenience. Plus, half of our friends from college are engineers, and I know from experience that if you sit engineers at a table full of beer cans for long enough, they'll start building things! better to give them cups that they can refill!

In our area, 75 for a keystone light keg would be about right, blue moon would probably run about 100.

You could order from somewhere that will let you return the unopened bottles.

Here are some calculators for figuring out how much booze to order.

Recently (this week) a bride posted a chart regarding how much you will need depending on the length of the reception and the # of guests.

I would not use bottles even in the grass. One broken bottle and someone who has on no shoes would be bad.

half barrel is about 114 here. They have a tapper deposit but you get that back when you return.

I hate cans as well, but it is better to have cans than no beer at all. I plan on doing kegs then some bottles of imports.
