Only one ring, no wedding band

Jenna, on July 2, 2017 at 8:27 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 74

I really love my engagement ring. It's simple, delicate, and exactly what I wanted. I especially like how thin the band is.

Today, FH and I went wedding band shopping. I felt like each band I tried on just took away from the thin, delicate look I love about my e-ring.

I'm considering not getting a wedding band and only wearing my e-ring. Has anyone else done this?

I don't know anyone else who has done this, but I see no problem with it. Lots of people never get engagement rings, so they only have one anyway!

I don't think there's anything wrong with that. You can always get one for an anniversary or really anytime you want if you change your mind.

I can definitely see how it would be tricky with your unique band. I see no issue with only wearing one ring but if you go to some specialized jewelers they know exactly what would compliment such a band!

I'm doing this! I don't want a band at all and never even considered one. I'm just walking down the aisle with no ring and they'll put on my one ring when we get married. I love my ring without a band!

I think that's fine! A lot of people just end up wearing their wedding bands without the e-rings anyway, so you'll just be doing the opposite

Following. I've thought about only wearing my engagement ring as well. I feel that no matter what band I've tried that it doesn't look as good as it does by itself. I've tried a lot of different styles but still haven't found anything I love but it also feels weird to not get a wedding band to show that I'm married. I love your ring by the way!

@FutureMrs S. Thank you! And I think thats what I'll do, too. Walk down the isle without a ring and have him put on my e-ring with the vows

@SarahJean419 your ring is so pretty, too! I think yours looks great on its own, especially with how the band splits and looks like two. I understand what you mean though about feeling weird not to get a wedding band. That's where I'm at, too.

FH always told me I was getting one ring, the engagement ring. I said yeah right. Then I saw the engagement ring, it was custom made and more beautiful than anything I couldve picked out and I couldn't imagine a wedding band with it. I had a wedding ring custom made to fit it, it is a wrap so a band on top and bottom. I love it, its a little bold for me, but I'm also excited to wear it. I've attached pictures, the ring in the box is the engagement ring with the wedding band

My engagement ring was my grandmother's, and it has a wedding band fused to it. It seemed pointless to unfuse them only to fuse them back together again later. So I have been wearing both and will continue to do so after the wedding. Not exactly the same thing as your situation, but I will not be getting a new band and I feel fine about it.

I don't know anyone who has done it but you have a beautiful ring and if that's what you want to do I'd say go with it!

Nothing wrong with it. I was opposite, my FH picked our wedding set and we got it resized and soldered together right away. We didn't like e-ring without band on. I've been wearing it like this for 3 years. We had a very long engagement....

@Jessie, @Vicki D. I didn't know rings could be soldered together--what does that look like?

Get a wedding band. People will ask you forever when you're going to get married.
