Only one ring, no wedding band

I really love my engagement ring. It's simple, delicate, and exactly what I wanted. I especially like how thin the band is. Today, FH and I went wedding band shopping. Today, FH and I went wedding band shopping. I felt like each band I tried on just took away from the thin, delicate look I love about my e-ring.

I'm considering not getting a wedding band and only wearing my e-ring. Has anyone else done this?

I felt that way. Mine's gorgeous just the way it is. It took a lot of looking but I found one that is super thin and isn't noticeable. It looks like it was part of the ring. I've enjoyed my engagement ring, but I'm super excited to add to it after wearing it for a year. I just kept looking. You have lots of time. Here's mine with and without the band.

I am planning on wearing just a wedding band - no e-ring. I may wear my e-ring on my right hand or use it where I don't want to risk losing the wedding band. My e-ring and wedding band are both pretty unconventional and they would look awful together. Smiley smile I also am not huge on jewelry, so it's what works best for me.

Everyone has such gorgeous rings! That's what I'm doing - just sticking with my engagement ring for now. I might consider a wedding band down the line, but I think my ring would look silly with an additional band.

Your engagement ring is so pretty! If you think about it, it kind of looks like two rings intertwined. You could just wear this ring as your wedding/ engagement ring, for sureSmiley smile

Your ring is lovely! ... and no reason why it can't be your wedding ring too.

Personally, I want the option of only wearing my wedding band... like on extended travel.

No reason you couldn't wear your wedding band on your left hand and switch the engagement ring to your right hand.

You could always wear the wedding band on your right hand as an option too, I've seen some people do this when they can't pair bands with their e-ring!

@Sara M. Thanks! That's what I was thinking too, about it looking like an e-ring and wedding band combined.

Yes! I did this, for the exact reason you mentioned - there was no band (that I could find) that didn't take away from my gorgeous engagement ring. I just wear my e-ring, and I love it.

@soontobemrs, nope. A legal marriage license and a commitment to be married means marriage. A band? That's a piece of jewelry that has no legal implications in a marriage.

@op, I like your ring without a wedding band as well. Mine isn't as thin as yours but I still prefer to wear it alone/without the wedding band. H doesn't really wear his band unless we're getting dressed up for something. We're definitely no less married because we don't like wearing extra jewelry. Nobody questions when we're getting married and if they did? They would get a response fitting to minding their own business.

Following!!!! Mine is so simple that I'm having a hard time finding a band that doesn't take away from my engagement ring. This is my best option so far!!!! Have you tried two bands??

Yep, my mother in law. I don't remember the back story, but for some reason she doesn't have a wedding band. People do think she's engaged sometimes though.

Your engagement ring is beautiful! I don’t see anything wrong with just wearing the one ring, especially if you can’t find something that you like with it.

Also, if you find something down the road you like, you can always get it then.

    Good luck searching!
