One week til wedding and my dress doesnt fit...

I gained weight. I have a night shift which messed horribly with my stomach and fosters bad weight gain. Its all in my stomach so it doesnt look like I gained anything if my stomach is covered but mt dress fit perfectly before and now it wont zip up..

Fortunately the friend who is altering it is a genius and is going to remove the zipper and add lacing so I can still wear my dress. Its still depressing lol pray everything goes well!

I hate the night shift! It reeks havoc on your body in every way. I'm glad the alteration isn't going to be an issue though .. hey, at least you know you'll be able to breathe! A friend of mine had a dress that fit perfect also; she was afraid to eat at her reception because she didn't want her stomach to show if she got full LOL

Is there a way to flag the account altogether? It's obviously someone just trolling but no one needs to read that kind of ignorance on their posts!

Geez... that comment is completely rude. Quit being an @$$!!! Any way that is part of the reason I got a lace up dress the wiggle room. And I love the way it looks like a corset! Good Luck at your wedding!

Thanks guys. As for the troll, I'm getting paid to sit on the computer, whats your excuse? Lol I think the stress of the wedding planning helped in my weight gain. It sucks but Ben is supportive in helping me with losing it. It wont happen by the wedding but its ok, purple corset lacing is sexy Smiley winking i'll be sure to post pics!

Oh my gosh, Brandy, I feel your pain about the night shift. I've worked it for 5 years as a dispatcher. I've coined my weight gain the "dispatcher 45" instead of the "freshmen 15". I've found that I snack a lot at night when I'm at work, so I switched to eating sunflower seeds (in the shell). I used to think they weren't worth eating because of all the work just to get that little seed, but now it keeps me busy when I'm bored at work. Your idea of the corset sounds wonderful, especially with the purple.

I have to laugh because on the phone app if a comment is flagged it doesn't show up so all I saw was amy b's comment. I was like WOW that's rude lmao

Lmao Dex I'm on my phone too, I saw the same thing!

To the OP, I work an overnight shift too, at a group home... I can't seem to stop grazing in the pantry all night, I feel your pain!

Good luck...the weight loss is a constant thought as every month draws me closer. Ok I will start Monday...yesterday was my last ice cream cone...lol.

You still have a week. If you can...watch you eat this week and drink about half your body weight in ounces.(Example: If you weigh 140 drink 80oz that 5 bottles of 16oz water) It will keep you full and you will get rid of the water weight. It is a good trick if you want to lose about 3 to 5lbs quick.

Lindsay: I know right omg I snack way too much and I'm always so fatigued! I will try the sunflower seeds thing, thats a good idea Smiley smile

Katie: Me too when I'm bored or tired I graze x.x not a good thing LOL

Jamie + Chantale: Thanks girls Smiley smile

KBM: I know thats how I am with exercise lol I'm 5'8 and 150lbs which sounds ok in theory but the stomach fat has got to go, I'm ok with weighing this much as long as its muscle Smiley xd I will try that, I don't drink enough water anyway so it should be good for me Smiley smile Ben is also going to exercise with me every morning, come on last minute fat burning!!!

I had lost all my baby weight after I had my son and went to work after maternity leave. I did 40+ hours on midnight shift and would come home to my baby boy... That's all I did was eat, drink energy drinks, and not get enough sleep. Before I knew it, I gained all the weight back. All 80 lbs of it... Now I can't get rid of it....

Midnight shifts are the worst! I wish it would fall off as easily as it put on.

Make sure you're drinking plenty of water every day. 1/2 your body weight in ounces. This will help eliminate bloat. Once you get used to not being bloated, on boy will you feel it when you are!

A corset back will fix the problem. Drinks lots of water this week.

This happened to my friend and i can tell you - she looked beautiful on her wedding day and everything worked out.

as mentioned from previous posters, drink tons of water to help flush any bloat out. another suggestion - try to bring healthy snacks to eat during your shift.

regardless of whether your dress has lace added to it or not, you will be stunning on your day!!
