It all began with a picture! His stepsister is my best friend of 20+ yrs. He had already moved out of his Mom's house before she married my best friends Dad so we didn't interact much at all. In fact, in the 15 yrs they have been related Clyde, my fiance, and I have only been at the same family function twice.  When I went home for the Thanksgiving holiday in 2010 Laurel and I went out with some friends. She posted a picture of she and I on Facebook while we were out. Clyde commented on the picture about her introducing he and I. When she pointed out that I live in Tampa and he lives in Austin he acted like he was kidding. We started talking online anyway just as friends. Neither of us thought it would grow from anything other than a friendship at first. Once we had been talking about a month I knew he was the one! Clyde told me from day one that he was never going to fall in love again much less get married. Needless to say, that changed :-) All he needed was to know that there was someone who wasn't going to turn their back on him and love him unconditionally. He proposed on our family vacation at sunset .. perfect! We always take family pictures at sunset during the vacation so I didn't expect anything. Everyone else took pictures first, then Clyde and I walked down to the water. I remember everyone lining up with their cameras and video cameras. I actually whispered to Clyde that it looked like the paparazzi! I saw him out of the corner of my eye squat down but I thought he was just playing with a sand crab or something. Little did I know he was actually on one knee!! He looked at me, smiled nervously and said "Amy, will you marry me?" I was totally shocked!!!  I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with the love of my life!!
