October 24th Wedding in Tahoe.

Hello my beautiful brides and grooms!

My fiancé and I are struggling with what to do.

We had a plan to get married 10/24/20 in North Tahoe and now we are stuck. All of our guests are traveling from out of state. We have 120-150 guests. We have to postpone right? I am so stuck with making the wrong choice. I want to do what's right by my guests. Please help me out!

Before ultimately deciding to postpone, I would check with your venue and keep updated with your state/city/county regulations. I’m getting married in October as well in Pennsylvania and at the moment our county is still in the red zone, but we are optimistic by end of summer things will be okay!

Tough decision! We are having a destination wedding in Jamaica and decided to postpone.

    - Jamaica hasn't opened their borders yet.

    - Guests may not have recovered financially enough to travel by then.

    - And with uncertainties about the second wave during the fall/winter.. we just said "lets postpone"

we moved from 10/10/2020 to 10/09/21

Hi I’m getting married in Tahoe too, but in December. Are you from the area or are you traveling too?
My extended family is out of the country and his entire family is out of state. For now, we are still planning as usual, we won’t make any decisions until about 2 months before the wedding. We have decided that we will get married on the beach in Tahoe no matter what with just our close family and friends if need be.
Are you getting married in CA or NV side? Has your venue reached out to you?I think you could wait longer to see what happens during the summer before making a decision. Counties are just reopening now so the next few weeks will really be telling.

We are from California. We are getting married Nevada side. No we reached out to our venue. We are just worried that our guests won’t come. People will still have to wear masks. And it wouldn’t be the same.

Nevada is letting places reopen faster than California but you’re right there is a chance people will have to wear masks.
Personally, I think a lot can happen in the next few months so I prefer to wait to see what’s going to happen and how weddings will look. If you would prefer to have your wedding exactly how you planned so no cutting your guest list, no wearing mask, no social distancing at the venue etc you should at least have a Plan B for a later date. I would rather wait for now and make a decision 2 months prior to my wedding.

We're having a destination wedding in the Keys. As of right now, Monroe County Florida is set to reopen to tourists on June 1st. Our wedding is scheduled for 10/10/20 - We have no plans to postpone. I think you need to watch the reopening plan for the area of your wedding and the the states your guests are coming from. You may have to be prepared to scale down in size, but overall what I'm seeing is most states will be at full capacity by then end of July. Have faith, it will all work out.
