Small 10/10/2020 wedding - 40 guests - rural ca - Can it still happen?

Marissa, on May 12, 2020 at 5:36 PM Posted in California Planning 0 6

Hey all! I'm wondering what some of your guys' opinions are about my wedding coming up and if you feel positive it could still happen the way I've planned? Like many of you brides, I am stressing during this virus thing. I know each wedding is different and unique, and we all have our own different vendors and locations, guest count, state, etc... But for my wedding, I've invited about 55 people, and anticipating only about 35-40 people will come. Most of my guests are not from out of state, and are only an hour drive away from the venue location. The venue is in a rural county in CA where not many covid cases are. The venue is also a restaurant (which is currently closed, so I hope will open soon so I can talk to them), with a big open field, small gardens, and pathways to walk around, so with this amount of people, I feel like it will be an easier controlled environment and easier social distancing for people if they choose to. I can also switch to a plated meals, and lawn games, the shoe game for entertainment, instead of dancing. Most of my vendors are also booked, just not paid in full yet. I have my dress and will be getting it altered in August. I guess I'm just looking for reassurance that my wedding can still possibly happen with all these different factors. 😔 Everything is just sad, and this time of my life is supposed to be happy, so I'm trying to stay positive. Anyone else having a similar type of wedding? How do you feel things will play out? Thanks brides, and my heart goes out to all of us!! ❤️

I don't see why not. Many places are starting to open up now and more will be by that time, and you don't have that many people to worry about.

I heard they will reopen beginning of June 1st. There is still time until October, so I hope it is okay by then 🥂

    Greetings.

I definitely believe your wedding will still be a go. It seems that a lot of places are slowly but surely opening back up, though with restrictions. I do believe that the worst case scenario is that there may still be social distancing regulations implemented by businesses. But if I were in your shoes, I would not worry too much about your date. Good Luck!

Hi Marissa!! It definitely seems like you have a lot of things working in your favor! I think with a small guest list and spacious outdoor venue that you could be good (although of course it's too soon to tell for certain!)
