Not usually this person, but....What do you wear to your bachelorette party?

E&E2017, on March 2, 2017 at 3:04 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 35

I feel totally dumb asking this, because I'm an adult and I can dress myself, but...I am not really a party or out on the town kind of person. I'm more of an introverted bookworm type, but my bachelorette party is coming up on April 1st (yeah, I have time, so I'm not too worried), and I literally don't know what to wear. We're going to downtown Detroit to go bar hopping and hit up the casino's and maybe a couple of clubs, and I don't know what to wear to any of those places. (Never been in a casino. Or a club.) I don' t know why this stumps me so much, but I'm genuinely puzzled here. One of my BM's doesn't know what to wear either so we are planning a shopping trip, but...what am I even looking for?

You think that would be okay for walking around a big city? What kind of shoes? (I swear I know how to adult, this is just foreign to me!)

I probably won't be wearing a cocktail dress. You can but don't have to if you aren't comfortable in one. Ask your friends what they are wearing. I will probably wear skinny jeans with boots and a nice top.

    ^ Same as Miranda.

As for shoes, I wouldn't bother with heels. They're not comfortable and if you're going to be bar hopping/walking a lot... I'd much rather be comfortable. Not sure what the weather is like in April in Detroit, but maybe some boots? Depending on the dress you end up wearing (if you go that route), you should be able to find some boots to go with it.

Skinny jeans and a nice top are my usual go to for going out bar hopping. That way you could add a cute jacket if it's cold and it looks cute with flats or wedges. I imagine I'll wear a cocktail dress to my bachelorette but thats my style. You should always be you, in every bit of being a bride. If clubs and casinos aren't your thing are you sure that's what you want for a bachelorette?

Wear whatever you will be most comfortable in.

I plan on wearing a white cocktail dress and heals.

We are doing a coed one at our new home, hosted by my MOH and FH's BM this Saturday. I will be wearing this dress. I won't be wearing shoes because we don't wear shoes in our house lol

I went with a tank top that said "buy me a shot, I'm tying the knot". Dressed it up with a cute cardigan and nice jeans!

Sorry I disappeared for a while! Client showed up.

@FutureMrsPrescott, I got pregnant at 20, had a baby at 21 so I never really got to do the night life thing. My MOH figures this is as good an excuse as any!

I really like the boots and skinny jeans idea! (I do like a cute cocktail dress, but given that the weather is unpredictable here, I'm not so sure!)

When my MOH got married a couple years ago, I made cute little tank tops for all of us, which was fun. During the day time part of the event, we rocked the cute tank tops then we got a bit more dressy for the dinner and comedy show we went to. You guys have given great ideas. I feel like I have a better game plan now.

I'm typically just living in my LuLaRoe, so this is going to be a nice excuse to get dolled up for a change!! Smiley smile

A cocktail dress and for fun make it white! You're the bride! Then buy a pair of cute shoes (heels or wedges but also bring flats). Here's an inspiration pic front

How about dark skinny jeans, dark tall boots with a heel/wedge and a cute top and leather jacket in case it is cold? Then do your hair and makeup more than usual and wear a statement necklace!

You have three options for clubs around here:

    1. Skinny jeans, stilettos, low-cut or strapless shirt

    2. Bandage skirt, crop top, wedges

    3. Forever 21-type slightly-skanky dress (usually bandage-y or with cut-outs)

Or you could be like me, say f it, and go full grandma and just wear a cute black A-line dress with wedges. That said, I do stick out like a sore thumb when I do that lol
