We had an Alice in Wonderland theme, so most things were a little different. I couldn't see myself in a traditional gown, so I went with a boho style. I made the invitations to reflect the theme. Our centerpieces were made up of offbeat decor and vintage items. The bridesmaids didn't match. My flower colors were coral, red, and pink which everyone questioned but was lovely together. I had a protea and amaranthus bouquet. We had a magician walking around doing tricks

We aren't having some of the "traditional" aspects most people assume will be there. No flower girl or ring bearer. 2 best men, a matron and maid of honor, as will as a bridesman on my side. We are not doing the bouquet or garter toss. We will be having a handfasting ceremony. So nothing too crazy but definitely doing away with some stuff that's just not us.

My FH will be wearing green instead of black. Our theme for the ceremony is Legend of Zelda so the entire bridal party is kinda out there. I'll have purple on my dress and the flower girl and ring bearer will be wearing fairy rings.

I love that. My coworker was telling me about the handfasting ceremony and it sounds incredible. I love the history that goes behind it. I personally am not a big fan of the bouquet or garter toss either. I’m glad I’m not alone there.

Holy crap I love that so much! Do you have a picture of your dress? Are you going to wear the Zelda headpiece? That’s so unique and awesome.

I'm looking for the zelda headpiece but I'm having a hard time finding one that doesn't look cheaply made. Also my dress is slightly different from hers. I have my dress and I'll be adding the shoulder/chest piece as well as the tapestry (pictures added for clarity)

That’s probably the coolest theme I’ve seen so far and I 100% love it. Good for you for picking out something unique. The dress is gorgeous as well. Do you know anyone who could customize something for you?

That’s gorgeous. Do you have a picture of the headpiece? Are you doing a traditional white dress or are you going for red?

What's awesome is we met at a renaissance festival so it's a fun story to incorporate. Most of our guest list is either married or in a committed relationship. We have maaayyyybbbbeeeee 5 or 6 guys and girls that are truly single so the tosses just dont make since. Plus wed rather not have the awkwardness and lose the time on the dance floor!

I’ve had an absolutely impossible time finding a headpiece in rose gold. They traditionally use yellow gold and that just doesn’t match my dress at all. So I’m actually going to make my own 😰 lol I think it should turn out okay. Still looking for the right pendant. My dress is white. We will actually be going to India for a traditional Hindu wedding at the end of the year, but I wanted to incorporate a couple small things for our American wedding too.

I’m not sure if they make custom pieces but Aranwen’s (check out their Etsy or instagram) makes incredible jewelry and headpieces. I’m not sure if that’s the style you’re looking for but if you emailed them some pictures, maybe they could figure it out.

Fair enough. It doesn’t work for everyone and I don’t see it fitting into our reception very well.
I love Renaissance faires so much, I almost considered a LOTR theme because we both love it so much and I idolized Arwen forever

I thought about it but our venue doesn’t merit a huuuuge gown I went with more of a winter fairy tale look. I am adding a slip to make it much more poofy lol but one hung we are doing is having the ring bearer and flower girl be beauty and the beast
